During the Clone Wars, the planet Vallt adopted a new constitution after it joined the Confederacy of Independent Systems. According to Valltii Chieftain Gruppe, unlike the previous charter, the wartime magna carta allowed for sweeping executive powers, including arbitrary arrest, as done to crystallographer Galen Walton Erso.[1]
