Vail's blaster was a one-of-a-kind blaster pistol,[1] that resembled a S-195 blaster pistol,[2] and was owned by the human bounty hunter Vail Tormin[1] during the reign of the Galactic Empire.[3] The double-barreled blaster used a multi-trigger setup[2] which relied on the dexterity of Tormin's finger prosthetics in order to fire.[4] Tormin used the blaster while hunting the thief Kay Vess in order to collect the death mark placed on her by the Zerek Besh crime syndicate[3] during 3 ABY.[5]

Behind the scenes

Vail's blaster was created for the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws which was developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.[3] Prior to the game's release, the blaster appeared in a number of the game's trailer's first appearing in the game's "Official Story Trailer" which was released on April 9, 2024.[6] The blaster was first identified as "Vail's blaster" on May 7 of the same year in the released of an updated Star Wars Outlaws: Visual Guide.[1] The design for the blaster was done by Concept Artist Victor Rathsmann under Lead Concept Artist Marthe Jonkers and Art Director Benedikt Podlesnigg. In a post on the artist portfolio website "ArtStation", Rathsmann revealed that the blaster was inspired by Matthew Savage's design for the S-195 blaster pistol. In the same post, the dimensions of the blaster's were stated to be 29.5 centimeters long and 17.9 centimeters tall.[2]
