Wookiees-Transparent

New to wikis? Don't worry, we were all new once. Our welcome page has everything you need to get started, and the Jundland Wastes sandbox can be used for test edits. Don't be afraid to make mistakes—be bold!

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! If you have any questions, you can consult our FAQ, ask a question in the Senate Hall forum, visit our official Discord server, or leave me a message on my talk page.

Re: Tipping Points

Left a reply on said talk page as well, but will address some of the additional points left on my talk page as well.

  1. "I don't think it's good for the wikia to just randomly delete whatever the users write"—Per our sourcing and attribution policies, all added information must be both relevant adequately referenced. Anything without that can (and will) be reverted. This isn't done randomly or targeting anyone specifically: Wookieepedia aims to be an accurate encyclopedia, not a run-of-the-mill fansite, so, we do delete a lot of things. The burdens of referencing and relevancy lies on the editor wishing to add the information.
  2. "I don't think it's good for the wikia to just randomly delete whatever the users write"—this is further addressed here for as to a deeper explanation, but essentially, we aren't other wikis, nor do what they do affect how we operate. Wookieepedia doesn't do trivia.
  3. "don't think it's really that big of a deal if some random user draws a silly but interesting comparison with real life events."—You're welcome to hold that opinion, but unless the connection is addressed by someone who's worked for LFL, editor assumptions, speculation, and original research, as defined by this section of policy don't belong here. It may not be a big deal to some, but it is a big deal to us.

As a summary; if something isn't allowed by our site policies, or isn't added in such a way that it can be referenced to fit with site guidelines, then it'll be deleted. Things can, however, be added when the proper work is done to put them in, and if said information can be proven to be both relevant, meet referencing standards, etc.spookywillowwtalk 18:53, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
