Interwiki links
Hey, the interwiki links you set up didn't seem to work. no, hr, ko, sk, and tr interwiki links still don't link to the other sites. Thanks for your time. -LtNOWIS 07:55, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Re: template changes
Hey, I advised Darth Culator of what your bosses want. He said he'll take care of it. Greyman(Talk) 07:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks
Just wanted to say thanks for fixing the Standard summaries drop down box issue. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 23:33, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
- I thought I would bring it to your attention that the drop down summaries are once again not being automatically inserted into the Edit Summary box as they are supposed to. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:27, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

- Monaco. It seems to be working again now. As I recall, the two edits I made where I saw this anomaly, the standard summary did get placed in the edit summary box, but I then previewed the edit, then saved. And when I saved, it wasn't there. Maybe it was just a glitch because it is working now. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 02:49, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

SVG images
We are having a problem getting certain SVG images to display properly when using the "thumb" designator. It seems like it might be a wikia code glitch. It's discussed here. Would you mind looking into it and see if there's anything that can be done about the issue? Thanks in advance. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 17:44, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. After checking the page source, it seems its the same problem we're getting a bunch of places. Its serving the straight raw .svg file instead of turning it into a .png file thumbnail. Its been filed with the technical team, and they are working on it. We hope to have a fixed solution out to the code servers soon, Sorry for the inconvenience. --Uberfuzzy 22:21, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for checking into it for us. - JMAS Hey, it's me! 23:52, 12 March 2009 (UTC)
Rollback
Is there a realistic purpose for the removal of the redundant rights? To me and others it signifies that we won two elections to get to where we are. Graestan(Talk) 01:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Really. You have nothing better to do? It's very helpful to see who actually went through the Rollback nomination process. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks for once again taking us into consideration. You guys are awesome. Toprawa and Ralltiir 02:36, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- On top of appearing completely pointless, it's also good for admins who step down to retain the rollback they earned, as User:Thefourdotelipsis did. Unless there's a seriously compelling technical reason for this, it seems like you're basically just trying to look busy. -- Darth Culator (Talk) 03:06, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
I dont know about "seriously" compelling, but it was something that needed done. You were not targeted specifically, its being run across all of wikia. We've had problems with people being 2 groups getting hit by rate throttles when they shouldnt have. yes, i understand wanting to let former people keep rollback, but this wasnt removing from them, it was only removing rollback group from people who were in sysop AND rollback. most of these cases across wikia dates back to "the before time" when rights were not done with special:userrights, but with a hackjob called special:makesysop and special:giverollback. back then, since it was done separately, people didnt think to remove those older/lower rights from newly created sysops, as it wasnt as simple as "uncheck one, and check another" as it is now. there are hundreds of wikis where the sysops still have rollback for this reason, or because of it, new admins think that people ALSO need rollback to be an admin. the rollback group exists only to give the single "rollback" right. the sysop group also already has that right. so to be in both is confusing to people when they look at something like Special:ListUsers/rollback, as it would show some but not all admins also. as userrights in mediawiki become more flexible to manage/customize, they also become more important to who can do what/where/how often. its needed to take this time (the 1.14 upgrade) to do a one time reset/fix of these groups, to ensure that there are less problems in the future. it also better helps us chart how active/maintained a wikis's admin/cleanup team is. if we look at the numbers, and you've got 10 rollback(ers?) but 8 of them are sysops also, then it means you've only got 2 really, and it throws off all the numbers of crat vs sysop vs rollback distribution. i'm sorry for the confusion, and your free to re-add rollback to those few sysops that it was removed from, or even add it to all your sysops. thats your choice, this was a 1 time pass across the board to cleanup as much as possible from the system as we begin to expand into new places and systems. --Uberfuzzy 03:44, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
AJAX/Automatic refresh
Would it be possible to have the "automatic refresh" check box option included on the Special:NewFiles page? It's available on Special:RecentChanges and Special:Log so it seems like a logical step. It would also be nice for those users, like myself, who patrol and frequent the New Files page. Thanks. - JMAS
Hey, it's me! 21:59, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Possibly. Its your guy's code, not ours, so its up to someone here to do it. --Uberfuzzy 22:44, November 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Ah, I thought it was a Wikia thing. I'll talk to an admin about it then. Thanks. - JMAS

Just some troll
If you check the shoutbox, there is a guy whose second account is Darth Pillsbury, which he uses to flame people, but edits with his first account, or so it seems. Could you perhaps check his IP and see if you could find out who the real guy is, if there is any?--Shade 23:42, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
Well, there is a hint he is a rollbacker here, so this should be relatively easy to figure out--Shade 23:45, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
Sorry for the triple posts.
I have 3 suspects that have the closest amount of edits Pillsbury claimed to have.
One of these guys may be the sockpuppeteer. --Shade 23:55, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
External links
I'm not sure if this a local thing, or something wikia-based, but is it possible to make it so that any external (non-wikia) link opens in a new window as the default setting? - JMAS

svg2png
Thanks for fixing that issue with the svg2png software. I've checked all of the problematic SVG images and they're all rendering as PNGs properly now. Again, thanks, Nayayen—TALK 16:13, January 12, 2010 (UTC)
- grumble grumble, not everything is, but I think the last ones are not svg problems, but are related to the image server/thumbnail issues we're having today. I really wish this stuff didnt happen. Its frustrating and confusing for everyone, but theres not much we can do. :( --Uberfuzzy 20:35, January 13, 2010 (UTC)
Behavior of ref tags
About two and a half years ago, it was discovered here that <ref></ref> tags placed below the <references /> tag were no longer being picked up by the <references /> tag. According to Cavalier One, you informed him that this was the correct behavior and that the previous behavior of the <references /> tag picking up all <ref></ref> tags, even those below it, was a bug that had been fixed. This led to a community decision to amend our Manual of Style and Layout Guide. Today I noticed on Genarra that the <references /> tag is again picking up <ref></ref> tags below it. Is this a case of the same bug returning, or has the behavior of the <references /> tag been intentionally changed to what is now seen on Genarra? - You know, thats a very good question... I'm not sure of the answer. At the time, I was pretty sure of my answer, but remember the MediaWiki (and extensions there of) tend to change often, and what was true, can be changed. The extension's page is here, and there are many many notes on that page. I really dont have the time to read and parse them all, but If you do find the answer, I would be interested in which is the correct behavior. --Uberfuzzy 14:26, June 8, 2011 (UTC)
