Your "observations"

I just wanted to say your observations about Star Wars fandom (and other elements of it) cracked me up. I especially liked your observations on the Fleet Junkies and Fandos. Thanks for not being afraid to voice your opinions. PS: I'm a Fando'ade, and I agree with your observation of us entirely! :P--CT-5619 helmet comlink 01:26, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Definition

Ah, to put it bluntly I respect your views. At first I thought you were waaay cynical, but when I researched a lot of your stands on issues I've come to agree with a lot of them. To the point, I think you're rather astute (Star Wars in the '40s? Who would've thought of that?). So, for random reasons, I can be extremely random, if you were to define 'A Star Wars fanfic'—like you might find on a user's page or subpage—what would you define it as? Besides the grammatical functions, of course. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:06, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

  • I am not at all offended. Strongly said, but true. And I do agree that most fanfics have their character know/save the life of a major character for the sake of 'coolness'. There are several exceptions, however, I do know of one (maybe two, but I can't recall another one) that are not about a Jedi or Sith and have no interactions with famous people. As a rule, however, I agree with you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:24, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Yes, non-hammy fanfic is very hard to find. You know of any? P.S. You're a Hyperspace member? Too cool, I wish I was. I would just love to participate in WTS... but I don't have the money nor the permission. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:30, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
      • A pity they're so few. I probably couldn't keep up the expenses. I don't have a job, and I'm too chicken to ask my parents. I wouldn't use it enough to ask them to pay for it, and my Dad just retired so we aren't 'loaded' at the moment. I'll just have to wait until I get a job or something. Thank you for the push to do it, though, I probably will in the future. Extremely and Utterly Nervous Question to Ask the Sentient Punctuation Mark: ...Could you please click on the y on the 'Bird of Prey' on my sig and give me your general first impression...? Be as harsh as you want, I don't like people who beat around the bush (That's something I've never known you to do, so I don't have to worry). I swear I won't take offense. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 01:49, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
        • You're actually reading it? Cool! Thank you for just reading it. I know it's a lot, and it's not even done and there's two more subsections to add... but thank you. And thank you for the upcoming opinion, whatever it is. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 03:48, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
          • Thank you so much! I must say, it's a lot better than I expected, mostly because of the Vong. You can probably tell that last year I studied European and American history, the story's rife with comparisons, probably a lot I'm not aware of. Thank you, I think... I think I will bring it up with them. I'll have to browse over it and come up with a sales pitch, but I think I'll give Hyperspace a shot. Mostly for WTS's sake. You've sold me... PS. I know that 'Shapeshfiter' is pretty dull, but it was already used in cannon sources (That's why the 'shifters call themselves the 'Shallar,' they don't even like 'Shapeshifter'). -Solus (Bird of Prey) 02:04, 4 January 2007 (UTC) EDIT: How much does Hyperspace cost, both initially and weekly/monthly/yearly? I looked and couldn't find the answer. Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 02:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
            • Yes, I'm an American. You're an Aussie? Cool. $40 yearly? Plus Insider? That's not bad at all. I think I could do it. Lemme go browse Hyperspace some more... Thank you for the information! -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:11, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
              • Thank you. I'll get Dad to look over it in the morning... it's almost midnight over here. Um, when you did that [melodrama] part I couldn't help but image it being said with Vader's voice... weird... -Solus (Bird of Prey) 04:22, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
                • I finally got the nerve to ask Dad, and he said he'd look it over. Thank you for the reference and the info! -Solus (Bird of Prey) 17:24, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
                  • Eh, Dad looked it over and said no. Well, can't say I didn't try. Maybe when I can pay for it myself, but at the moment I can't. I'll keep it in mind, though. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 23:14, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

Moving of comments

  • Hey, sorry to move your comments, but whe I saw your and Riff's comments, I realized that if a lot of people made comments in the vote section it would end up being very messy. So I figured I'd make a policy restricting comments to the talk page. It was not meant as a personal attack or censorship of any kind. Also I don't blame you for doing anything wrong, since I came up with the policy after I saw your comments (In a way, I ought to thank you and Riff ;-) ) It's simply to prevent the vote page from becoming too messy. I hope you understand. Peace. KEJ 10:30, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
  • RE: comment on my talk page. Okay, "policy"'s not a good word. Then call it a rule for the individual contest. Sorry for causing you any inconvenience KEJ 10:35, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
  • RE: comment on my talk page. I own nothing on this wiki, I'm just trying to prevent the page from becoming too messy. (btw, are you watching my talk page? If you are, there's no need for me to post my replies here) KEJ 10:41, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
  • RE: comment on my talk page: I'm more of an advocator of communicating on each user's respective talk page: Well, In that case, I'll keep posting my replies on your talk page as well. Anyway, are you referring to the 'dos and don'ts' guideline that says that one should take it to the CT if one wants to change an existing policy? I've just skimmed through the official policies-pages, but I can't find any official policies regarding voting competitions. Can you point me to them? KEJ 11:03, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
  • RE: comment on my talk page: It seems there is no real policies regarding the format of voting competitions "Coolest thing..." and "Miss Star Wars..." etc. It's my impression that in the "Miss/Mr Star Wars" competitions voters did not generally drop comments in the middle of the votes. Anyway, we could discuss from here till the end of the world about the form of whatever de facto standard policies we might have. I don't think there is a standard policy or even a general status quo, since these competitions have been very adhoc-ish till now. However, since they appear to be becoming more and more common place, I think we need a de jure policy. I'll take it to the CT right away. KEJ 11:25, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
    • So KEJ moved the comments to the talk page because they were cluttering the votes up. Big deal. You don't need a rule that says you can or cannot do that, especially for a non-wiki-altering contest vote thingy for fun. There are some instances where policy doesn't need to be enforced. -- Riffsyphon1024 11:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Talk page templates

Are you seriously going to tag every page's talk with that template. I would have it activate on new pages so as to not throw off users looking for complaints to articles only to find a blank page. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:36, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Ah. No what I was doing was just clicking away at Random article, cleaning up any article I come across, and adding the talkpage header to each respective talkpage. If it's a problem, I can limit the addition of template to pre-exsisting talk pages. .... 08:44, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
    • Yea, that's what I meant. Only apply it to existing talk pages. -- Riffsyphon1024 08:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

You a Futurama fan?

If you're not I suggest you remove the quotes, but I assume you are from those. I am too. Are you looking forward to the feature length straight-to-DVD Futurama episodes coming out (hopefully) later this year/2008? Assuming you have heard of course..... Jagged Fel, the man formerly known as Humorbot (Yo!)20px

  • Yeah, not very many people noticed that...And If they did they didn;t say anything. I'm in England, so I first saw Futurama on Channel 4, me and my brother originally watched it, simply cos we needed somethign to watch, it looked attractive enough considering it was made by the same people as Simpsons. But Channel 4 was ridiculously slow at getting new episodes, so we'd bought Season 3 and Season 4 on the days they had come out before we'd seen any of them. (Thats the DVD seasons not the TV seasons.) I find the most emotional episode to be "Jurassic Bark" (the one with Fry's dog) embarassingly enough the end brings me to tears from time to time. I prefer Futurama to Simpsons for loads of reasons and thats just one of them. Simpsons has never made me feel even remotely sad (nor has it really made me laugh very hard) but yeah, "The Why Of Fry" was a very good episode, although I wouldn't normally have reccomended it as a startoff episode as it has references to lots of previous episodes which would make me think that I had missed something when watching it. But whatever floats your boat I suppose. Jagged Fel, the man formerly known as Humorbot (Yo!)20px
  • Even so, "The Why of Fry" really needed "The Day the Earth Stood Stupid" and I for one do not think the Pilot was Futurama at its best in any way shape or form. I don't think I have seen that episode of Simpsons so its not surprising that I can't think of any emotional Simpson episodes. Jagged Fel 21:43, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
  • Fair enough...Although I find it quite surprising that none of the episodes prior to the Why of Fry captivated you... Jagged Fel 21:49, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Good Articles.

You seem to know good articles when you see them. Could you tell me what to improve on the Tott Doneeta's page and on this page I would be very thankful if you could tell me what to do with them. They are my "pet projects" as it were... Jagged Fel, (Yo!)20px

  • Right thanks....I put Skreej up for the Good Article thing. I don't suppose you could I Identify the parts of Tott Doneeta that need to be changed to past tense? So I can change it. I'ma bout to go over it for spelling mistakes so I might see some changes that are needed then. Thanks again. Jagged Fel, (Yo!)20px

Star Wars Missions

Hey, I saw you were working on the Star Wars Missions books, and I've come to ask a favor. Could you perhaps give a quick summary of what Zuckuss' role is in Star Wars Missions 11: Bounty Hunters vs. Battle Droids. I'd like to make his article as complete as possible. Cull Tremayne 03:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the help. Cull Tremayne 03:25, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
    • So the player character is Fett? Is there a reason given as to why Zuckuss ambushes the player? Is the PC another hunter who is trying to tell Jabba that 1-2-4C-41 is not after him, and Zuckuss and 4-LOM are just trying to protect Jabba? Do you know what the timeline is like for this book? Is it before Yavin or around there? Cull Tremayne 03:41, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
      • Hazy indeed. I'll cram it in there somewhere. So Zuckuss was just trying to rob the PC of the bounty? What exactly did the bounty entail? Just getting information on 1-2-4C-41? Or was the PC bringing back the droid? Cull Tremayne 03:57, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

My "vandalism" on Jack Nebulax's page

I didn't vandalize it. I saw the picture and comment a little after I joined and thought he had put a typo. So I tried to fix it for him. Later I saw the picture and realized I had not noticed that his arm had armor on it. So I changed it back. (The edit you reverted) I was only trying to help. I never meant to mess anything up. Path of Destruction review

  • Per your blog, I guess I will wait for the paperback ^_^ But I can't resist an Old Republic era novel. It became my favorite era with the KOTOR games, and even the comics look tolerable (though I've never liked that medium). Right now I'm tiptoeing through the NJO series... started with Dark Tide because Vector Prime looked blech, and I'll probably skip over Force Heretic too. Artist

In response to your 'ad,' per se., on your user page, I have answered. If that sounds awkward, I apologize. <resumé> At any rate, I can draw (example here) and do graphic arts (examples here). You must pardon my naiveté, but I am not aware fully of what a webstrip is. Also, depending on the content of what it is you want, I may not be able to deliver the request. </resumé> May I use informal English now? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 20:05, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Ah, now I understand. Comic-y. I'll get to work on it, thank you! -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:42, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
    • Okay. I tried to duplicate the style done on the picture you asked me to use as a reference. I wasn't sure whether you wanted me to color it or not, so you can consider this a kind of test run. Here it is. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 23:52, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
      • Oh, okay. (Forgive me if for a moment I ask who on earth Tom Hodges is). However, I won't be able to get it to you until the morning, as, since I do not own a scanner, I have to take pictures on a digital camera in the sunlight to get them onto the computer, and the sun's gone down, or, at least it has here. I'll try more goofy and cartoony this time. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 23:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

            • Okay, thank you! Are we doing concept art? -Solus (Bird of Prey) 00:33, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
              • Just a few sketches, I believe. --Imp 00:36, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
                • Yes, but for each character mentioned, there will have to be a general agreement on his/her/it's appearance, for continuity's sake. I'm sure 4dot (and any other author) has a basic idea of the look, maybe even a basis, but words can only do so much in describing a face. Thus, concept art. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 00:38, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
                  • Um, I'm sorry, but I can't do that for two reasons: 1. I don't have an e-mail account and 2. I'm not allowed to. Sorry about that, truly I am. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 13:48, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I really didn't want to say it, and though it'll probably earn me a spot on your blacklist, something I didn't want, it has to be said. Um... I can't draw or storyboard webstrip Episode VI. I just can't. I won't let myself draw a half-dressed female. I'm sorry. Truly I am. I will try to finish storyboarding the others, however. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 15:16, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
                          • Yes, there has been progress, and I've done some preliminary sketches of the characters assigned to me by Gonk. I have No. 1 and No. 2 done, though not using the characters you wanted me to (for instance, you are a human and not a black box with four yellow dots in a Sith robe). I'm not sure if I should redo them with that in mind. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:40, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Podcast

Just listned to the third podcast, that was good! Can't wait till next monday, probally never heard of me except the banished mandalorian fan clan thing 3 months back. Well if you could a good song to have is one of the beetles like, "I say hello, and you say goodbye, hello hello oh I say hello and you say goodbye". Something along those lines. Well I love the pod cast and I might send a comment audio or video file. Favorite part was on the new hope part with the joke about the guy who can't turn his head 180' around. See you around. Darth tader(General) 20px 20:57, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

You're welcome Mate, see later. Darth tader(General) 20px 21:04, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey I'm re- listening to the pod cast and the part about the you wouldn't steal a car part, yeah we do get that crap on our movies. Who cares about that, we know not to steal. See you around. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:31, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

If that doesn't work let me know you'll have to wait like another hour until I will give you the best link. Darth tader(General) 20px 23:16, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Radioshare is still lagging for me so I can't get u a better link. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:56, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

So would u like another link? Darth tader(General) 20px 13:10, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Here we go the good link. [4]. I'll be gone all day. Darth tader(General) 20px 13:41, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah It works, finnaly, and minor "bluffing" the mic was moving around in its input place putting some "bluffs" in it. Darth tader(General) 20px 21:55, 11 March 2007 (UTC)

Hey man, I normally have nothing to do around here, so any work or writing done for the Wookiee-cast I'll do it, I just get bored here with nothing to do. I don't care if you have nothing for me to do, it was just a question. See you around, can't wait for tommorow. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:21, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

K I'll be on a bit more today but that doesn't do anything with you, and last question, did the link I give u work? It's a bit longer than the first one and more updated. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:24, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Great! quick ? how does the anderson tape thing work is it one time only or... ocasionally.... how does it work out I'm a bit sketchy on that. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:26, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Well I am a bit dissapointed I couldn't get mine to yours in time but thats life. Well I'm signing off and first time tommorow I'll listen to it. Now I won't respond to this last question if you answer it. But, will it now be like 90 minutes now, wait make it 60 minutes, and called it 60 minutes. LOL. Well lastly good bye and I'll tell you how I thought of it in the morning, good night to all and to all a good night! don't ask why. Darth tader(General) 20px 01:34, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Concepts

I doubt I will get more done than these two: Humanoid Sarlacc and a Bis 6 rendering (you did say "whatever"). The rest I leave to Solus, mainly because I'm not good at robes or humans, which is what most of the others entail. Gonk 20:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)

Podcast

Where is it? Darth tader(General) 20px 13:58, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Oh, okay just wondering. Darth tader(General) 20px 21:17, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

This weeks was a bit less interesting, but it was interesting to listen too. I loved that there was James Bond music, have like bad day next week for the song. And the Mando'ade language thing was weird. And I asked u about the andersona tapes if they were weekly or something and and u said to listen, uhh... I didn't find the answer in it plz may u tell me. All in all it was great! Darth tader(General) 20px 19:37, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

So for the episode after next week do i submit another one? Darth tader(General) 20px 21:09, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

OK thats fine I wawsn't to know, see you around. Darth tader(General) 20px 21:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

The Clone Wars

Have you seen, or, more preferably, do you own the Clone Wars cartoon show-thing? I wanted to know some information from it and I have never seen it. Thank you for your time. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 18:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Thank you very much. Um, you may find this odd, but right now Padmé Amidala's wardrobe is kinda my pet project, kinda like my Mount Sorrow (Whose FA occurring during Celebration IV I find to be hilarious). I've done a lot of work on it, but I am unable to add 'captions' about Padmé's outfits during the Clone Wars. If you could tell me a bit about each scene in which the ones listed occur (and maybe the episode, if you don't mind), that would be great. You can take a glance at the article and see the format if you wish. There are five outfits, the one on Ilum, and the four others, listed under 'Senator's attire,' just so you don't have to go looking for them too much. Thank you so much! -Solus (Bird of Prey) 13:30, 15 March 2007 (UTC)EDIT: You don't have to bother looking up the Episodes they're in, I did some research and found that out. However, if you could, could you please tell me if I'm missing any of the dresses (That sounded weird)? Thank you. -Solus (Bird of Prey) 21:12, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Userbox

I am glad to see that the userbox went through! I have replaced the old one I had with the "official" one, now. However, I would like to ask if you wouldn't mind if I made one on SWGames? I would use the exact same thing that is on here. I look foward to your response! supergeeky1 20px The Cantina 16:25, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Wookiee-Cast

Great Cast this week 4Dot, keep up the good work! Joker1138(Mandalore) 25px

Hah great one! just make the conference part if u do it again a bit less time consuming. And you said after my anderson tape, "...Great pronounciation, but how come you have trouble with the typing? ". If you ment about my Grammar I know it is one of the things I don't like to talk about it gets me angry on the inside.:P. but I know. And can't wait till next weeks, see yah. Darth tader(General) 20px 19:58, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Diplomacy

  • Despite the fact that we have disagreements in a lot of areas, I think we have an understanding of each other. I appreciate you staying off of Talk:Palpatine and limiting the argument, despite the un-civil remarks directed towards you and your opinion. It'd be a little ironic to give you a diplomacy award, but here's a cookiee: Unsigned comment by Atarumaster88 (talk • contribs)

Sorry

Sorry for interupting you during the Wookie-Cast. Darth Raul (join the sith order)

Palpatine

  • Dude, hold off on the editing. I think you're taking out a little too much, and you're certainly pissing off our detractors. So please, do the diplomatic thing and hold off on the ripping out of sections. Stick with tweaks for now, like the resectioning, which I liked. Havac 01:25, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Kneesaa´s fishing

Sorry, Thefourdotelipsis. I corrected the info of Talk:Latara. You are right. I saw the episode The Tragic Flute again, and really the objects in Baga´s cart was marine minerals (shells, sea stars, etc) that Kneesaa could had fished from the lagoon, before the start of episode. But, definitively about Kneesaa´s feet, the episode´s start only shows the princess bathing it. And enjoying a lot... Delmarnori 23:30 7 May 2007
