Objection!

Dullust is not 'fanon'. Please read the 'Dullustian Chapters' before assuming it is so. Before you do that, please remove the 'speedy deletion' sign from the Dullust site.

Thankyou. naylor182.

  • Would you be willing to provide a link, either here on on the page? I can't find it. And if it is canon, i apologize, but after a while you just start to see articles and think "Fanon". Also, it's written in present tense, and it's supposed to be written in past tense here. And it was already deleted once by an admin. Also, you can remove the speedy yourself. -- SFH 01:07, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • I understand your reflex reaction. I shall try to find a link, though it's from a graphic novel-type information pamphlet that I was given in about 1996, so I dunno if there'll be a link.

Would a change to past tense suffice instead?

  • Yes. However, if it was from 1996, all information about the Clone Wars was possiblly subject to retcon, since all information about the war was not revelealed until AOTC. And I'm sorry, but SparqMan has redirected the page to fanon and locked it. DO NOT MAKE THIS PERSON ANGRY! He is an admin and can block you from the site. He can be a little stern at times, but his is a fair man, and a canon expert, and the other users listen to him...myself included. -- SFH 01:25, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • OK, I'll see what I can do. Thanks for your help.

Han Solo and Verpine

I note you said that Han Solo particularly dislikes insectoid aliens in the Verpine article. Could you source this? He doesn't show any particular animosity to the old priest in the Marvel comics, the caterpillar-like guy in Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, etc., etc. — Silly Dan 22:38, 15 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • Well, according to The Joiner King, Leia noted Han disliked dealing with insectoid aliens ever since he encountered the Kamarians. Maybe dislike of all insectoids is a little strong, but I figured it may explain the Buggie comment. -- SFH 23:10, 15 Sep 2005 (UTC)
    • OK. Adding that to the Behind the Scenes section. — Silly Dan 23:50, 15 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Succession Boxes

  • Hey SFH, rather than discuss it across a variety of talk pages, I thought I would bring the discussion on succession boxes to your talk page. How do they benefit the article or readers, particularly when the links between characters are based on "de facto" assumptions or "eventually" explanations? Thanks. --SparqMan 16:16, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Okay, maybe I can't think of one that gives a good reason to keep them. The whole thing started when I wrote the article Galactic Emperor, and I put Thrawn on the list. At the time, I suppose it was a jab against the NJO, because I felt that the entire EU was being retconned into a prelude to the Yuuzhan Vong War. And lets just face it, Thrawn had some sort of political leadership position in the Empire between Isard's fall and Emperor Palpatine's return. After the Battle of Endor, the line between Political control and Military control blurred--and there wasn't much of a line between the two in the first place. And technically, Thrawn outranked the Moffs, so they had to give him control. And Isard never claimed the title of Empress, but no one doubted that she was in control. And just because Thrawn never claimed the title, he still had control of the Empire. I'm sorry if listing Thrawn as Galactic Emperor hits a nerve with you, but he had some sort of leadership position. -- SFH 19:22, 23 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • I can understand your frustration. What I am asking is, given the ambiguities of the situation (and technically, the line between political and military control was blurry earlier too), how does a less-than-accurate set of succession boxes aid the situation? Drawing a fuzzy line between Thrawn and Isard, or Thrawn and Luke Skywalker, doesn't aid in the process. If you think there is information in EU texts that supports your claim of Thrawn's political (or any other information you are trying to convey via succession boxes), why not include it in the proper articles? --SparqMan 01:40, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

I guess it's just something for effect that was carried over from Wikipedia. If it means that much to you, you can remove them. I won't readd them, but I cannot guarantee that some one else might. I would like that his name remain on the list of Galactic Emperor's, since I feel that the page gives a better explanation. There's a New Essential Chronology coming out in October, which may better explain Thrawn's position of leadership, but you can remove the succession boxes for now if you like. -- SFH 19:52, 24 Sep 2005 (UTC)

  • I think that will require a Wiki-wide discussion, but it's good to know that you don't hold them too dearly. On Wikipedia, succession boxes are more applicable because we have complete access to information, where in the GFFA, many details are unavailable. --SparqMan 20:33, 26 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Xecr Nist's death

Hey SFH. What is your source for Xecr Nist's death in prison? ("he died in prison shortly afterwards."). Thanks. --SparqMan 06:15, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • New Essential Guide to Characters, on Sedriss' page. -- SFH 14:00, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • Thanks. Please be sure to add that to the sources, and since it is a specific location for that piece of information, you may want to note that in the Sources section. --SparqMan 21:59, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
      • I think it's also mentioned in the Essential Chronology, though I may very well be mistaken. Demented Smiloid 22:27, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • It isn't. -- SFH 22:32, 14 Oct 2005 (UTC)

New Republic Presidential election, 27 ABY

Nice work on New Republic Presidential election, 27 ABY. We need more articles that transition from CUSWE style biographical pieces to a more encompassing, encyclopedic style. Well done. --SparqMan 02:46, 17 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • Thank you. I had been meaning to write that eversince I picked up Destiny's Way. i just wish we had more details on the elections of Mothma, Leia, and Fey'lya. -- SFH 02:49, 17 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Supreme Commander Pellaeon

What are your sources that say Pellaeon is no longer the Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet? Has it been documented in a source that Pellaeon either resigned or was taken out of the post? If the evidence is simply the fact that he came to hold the post of the Galactic Alliance's supreme commander, then that is insufficient since it does not necessarily mean he can not be both.--SOCL 00:14, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • It's stated by either Leia or Cal Omas in The Unseen Queen. Kuralyov 00:15, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • My apologies; I was unaware since I have yet to read it. I stand corrected.--SOCL 00:16, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)

You know, I had just written an explanation that I tried to leave it on Pellaeon's talk page, but the two of you left edits on it causing an edit conflict. That's okay, except that when I tried to leave an explanation here, I got another Edit conflict. Thats three times in a row, man, and the two of you are responsible. And why does everyone seem to doubt my sources? Is it because I said that Grand Admiral Thrawn wshould be counted as Galactic Emperor? Is it because I've called for the NJO to be dislogded as canon? Why do you hate poor SFH?...Sorry about that. I just get a little frustrated over three consecutive edit conflicts appearing. -- SFH 00:26, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • Hopefully this won't cause another edit conflict. No hate, man, I was merely ignorant. I don't distrust you, I simply don't trust what I don't know; know what I mean? Sorry about the problems, dude, I didn't mean any offense.--SOCL 00:28, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)

It's all right. I just get a lot of questions about where I get my sources, and they're all legitimate. Also, I really think that those would be better suited for the talk pages of the article in question. And Don't worry SOLC. You didn't cause an edit conflict this time. -- SFH 00:31, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Vor

You added an appearance in the Vor article -- do you know if the Cathedral of Winds got destroyed again during the Yuuzhan Vong invasion? Thanks, — Silly Dan 00:41, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Vortex was attacked by the Yuuzhan Vong during the invasion, so it would be likely. As for placing it in the appearances section, Luke and Mara went to Vortex while searching for Dreash'cor, so it would be natural to assume they ran into some Vors. -- SFH 01:11, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)

  • In later years, after having to rebuild their cathedral seventeen times, the Vors reconsidered the wisdom of basing their culture around one incredibly fragile building... 8) Thanks. — Silly Dan 02:00, 23 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • "When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that's what you're going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England." ;-) --SparqMan 07:19, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Apology

  • I would like to apologize, to you everyone one this wiki, for all the rabble rousing I caused on the talk pages regarding the New Essential Chronology. I'm a Lefty, so it's in my nature to complain about the powers that be. You all have better things to do then explain things to some panicky wookieepedian. And I admit that I may be overreacting to this. I'm simply a little testy about retcons, especially the ones that have come down since Del Rey took over (they gave Grand Admiral Thrawn's campaigns a noble motive). That being said, I shall pray to Yun-Shuno to absolve my sins, and cease all questions and comments about the NEC. -- SFH 23:12, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • You don't need to apologise. I just think you are overreacting. Some of the retcons aren't actually retcons as such. QuentinGeorge 23:17, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • I've come to accept that the Sith were originally from Ziost. Just how could so many sources, some of which this wiki considers prime sources for info, all be wrong? And in the Expanded Universe section of the Sith in the Databank, it says that the Dark Jedi found them on Korriban (though I am the first to admit that the Databank is out of contact with reality. Guys haven't even updated the EU sections of the Yuuzhan Vong after two years).-- SFH 23:16, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC)
    • Well, there were Sith on Korriban as well - IIRC it was a planet colonised by the Sith species. So, the Dark Jedi may feasibly have visited Korriban FIRST. Regardless, Ziost is the homeworld, and it was the eventual capital of the Sith Empire. QuentinGeorge 00:05, 29 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Sith History

Hey, just wanted to say "Thanks!" for adding in the Sith timeline summary piece that I missed (death of Darth Sidious) and fixing the one date. Appreciated! :) --Culix 05:16, 3 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • No problem. -- SFH 05:24, 3 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Super Shadow

Tsk, tsk. -- unsigned comment from [Redacted by administration]

I wouldn't bother restoring your pages until he's banned. He'll just blank them again. StarNeptune 21:10, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)

  • We really need admins that are active during the day. Thanks, though.
    • If we do not revert pages quickly, we will lost track what pages are edited or not - TopAce 21:38, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)
  • Good point, but if someone can move as fast as that guy, there is little point. I'm going to start a campaign to get more admins available, though I myself don't want the post (Probably upload a virus on acciedent). -- SFH 21:41, 5 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Slashrats!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!

SFH, really good job with the slashrats and the killscent in the Palpatine article. It merged perfectly with the prose style I was using in that paragraph, and it adds to the color of it greatly. I now have to measure up to that kind of killer metaphor. Don't worry, my internet is almost back after Hurricane Wilma (I was in Naples, just north of target zero), and I'll be adding new sections for you to improve. Keep up the excellent work! Drop me a message sometime!

Upload succsesful

I did it! I DID IT! I F$$KING DID IT! I finally uploaded something right. File:Palpshuttle.jpg|thumb Vengeance is mine, thus sayeth the Stephen! (suddenly realizes that the other Wookieepedians are looking at him weird) Sorry about that, I've just never uploaded anything onto this Wiki. -- SFH 23:33, 17 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Completely understandable. We all have to start somewhere. Adamwankenobi 23:40, 17 Nov 2005 (UTC)
  • Now that I've learned how to upload images, I gone on something of a quest to upload better images, especially on stuff from the EU, with an emphasis on various Yuuzhan Vong. Most of them have been custom toy figures of varying degree of work, but I've come to a conclusion...People seem to think Onimi looks like Gollum.

Young Jedi Knights

Thanks for cleaning up the Young Jedi Knights category. I'm still learning how to do a lot of this stuff.

Xwing328 05:51, 27 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • No problem. -- SFH 05:53, 27 Dec 2005 (UTC)

"Grammer"

You pointed out and fixed a grammar mistake, but you still misspelled grammar. How ironic. =Þ StarNeptune 05:33, 28 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • The irony is not lost on me. -- SFH 05:34, 28 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Category:Illodians

Thanks for dropping that category off of Avan Beruss. I thought there would have been more Illodians mentioned, but apparently it's just Avan and Daddy Beruss; he and his father don't justify a category. --SparqMan 07:18, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • Hence my removal. And you would think that there would be more out there by know. -- SFH 07:21, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Categorize articles

Hello, thanks for the heads up. I didn't know I was supposed to do that. I also don't know how. Is there a help page on it? I'll be happy to go back and do it for the articles I've made. Thanks!--DannyBoy7783 01:56, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the category help. I was checking out the category section to see if something better than "Weapons" fit for Boba Fett's jetpack. If you know of one please feel free to update the page: Mitrinom Z-6 Jetpack. Do you think it would be worthwhile to create a category for Boba Fett's weapons and gadgets?--DannyBoy7783 02:53, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Also, are article here supposed to be written in present tense or past tense? Or does it depend on the article?--DannyBoy7783 02:54, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I'm 68.237.138.233

Yes, I read the SuperShadow article you pointed me to... that guy's nuts! Unfortunately I am now attached to the name 'Jard Yan Dooku'.

  • Well, I'm afraid that it's non-canonical. And be careful about all other things related to him. People here tend to start foaming at the mouth over the mere mention of his name. I should know, I'm one of them. But, if you follow the canon policy, you should do just fine. -- 23:57, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)

I've been using it as a username for a looooong time. Nothing wrong with that, hmm? :-) Little Mikey is a weirdo, but you gotta admit some of the names aren't too bad. Shame he's an idiot and doesn't just ADMIT he makes it up instead of lying. If he put a notice line such as "all names and other certain information on this website are names invented by me that have gotten popular and are not canon, they are just for fun," then maybe he would be more respected.

--

Okay, I did the name notice for Dooku, Palpatine and Anakin (his middle, Cleevon), have you moved them to behind the scenes already? If not I'll do it. I'll add name warnings (fan-made names in bold) for Xanatos Omega, Yoda D'Kana and Grevious Shakar. ;-)

PS - Want to be friends? You're cool.

I have completed your orders, my master!

I've been using Jard (Yan) Dooku as a username for a looooong time. Nothing wrong with that, hmm? :-) Little Mickey Suttle is a weirdo, but you gotta admit some of the names aren't too bad. Shame he's an idiot and doesn't just ADMIT he makes it up instead of lying. If he put a notice line such as "all names and other certain information on this website are names invented by me that have gotten popular and are not canon, they are just for fun," then maybe he would be more respected.

(you instruct me to move the fake name warnings to behind the scenes)

Okay, I finished work on those six pages, check 'em out!

  • Hey, you here? Jard Dooku 19:21, 13 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Sorry I didn't get back to you yet. But thank you for the warnings. -- SFH 20:53, 13 Jan 2006 (UTC)
      • He has been warned not to post fanon content on this site anymore. I don't know what you opinion is on that but please don't encourage him if you are in favor of including those fanon names.--DannyBoy7783 23:05, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • I think you misunderstood his intention. He's trying to warn fans about the fanon names, not incourage their use. We get so much crap on this site from Suttle that at this point a few warnings might not be such a bad thing. -- SFH 23:18, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • I see your point but I don't see it that way. I think it is this kid's way of including fanon content. By adding the "fan made" disclaimer it lets him include it here. He's attached to the Dooku name and I think he was looking for a way to include it on the page.--DannyBoy7783 00:46, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)
      • DannyBoy, if you'll read my reply on my Talk page, you'll see why these types of things should stay in the Behind the Scenes sections. Admiral J. Nebulax 00:53, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • We have included SuperShadow warnings on other pages, such as Yoda, Darth Maul, and a few others. I think including made by SuperShadow would be reasonable. -- SFH 01:09, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Jack changed the wording of it on the Dooku page and I am much more comfortable with it now. If any of you want to do the same for the other articles if the names pop back up I think that would be acceptable. Inclusion as a warning is good if it is a warning (like it is now on Dooku's page) --DannyBoy7783 01:12, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Xiaan

excuse me, so what if it's big, it clearly explains her death! User:vjsta

  • Did you see it? The picture was bigger than the whole article. -- SFH 23:12, 15 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • So what? This is irrelevant. In my opinion, the picture could replace the article, it IS significant.
  • Can I make a suggestion? At the very least, make them thumbs by putting thumb in the brackets. That way, they will come down to a manageable size. After that, just use common sense on where you place them. That is what I did when you put it back in. I'm trying to work with you here, man. Be reasonable. -- SFH 02:07, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Problem solved. vjsta, learn the manual of style and learn some taste. It is laughable to have that image full size. Having it smaller on the page is at best unnecessary.--DannyBoy7783 02:13, 16 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Jango Fett

  • I understand your meaning, but that was his 'species'. If you put it under his affiliation i wouldn't mind so much. Sorry if i came across strong. Jasca Ducato 09:43, 17 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • I've reworded it to say that he was not a Mandalorian warrior, it that helps. -- SFH 18:22, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

Non-used Sources

  • I've recently finished a first draft of entry on Valara Saar. I used as my sources the roleplaying game plus wizards dot com. You added a third source, Force Heretic II, but this source has not been used to create the article. So, I'm dubidative about that. Should "sources" include all the appearances of the character (or whatever the entry is for), or only the bibliography (+ filmography + videogamegraphy + etc) used for the article itself? The advantage of my option is that a user wanting to expand the article, will know if that particular source has been used for the article. Skippy Farlstendoiro 16:23, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
  • I'm pretty sure that Force Heretic II is where she was first mentioned, so it should be included in there. -- SFH 19:50, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

LOL

  • LOL means "Laugh(ing) Out Loud." Presumably, our anonymous vandal thought that Jan Strange was funny for some reason, though I have no idea why. jSarek 19:52, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
  • Thank you. I've been wondering what that meant for some time. -- SFH 19:55, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Since Hatheway has admitted to making stuff up in the past, I had to revert his edits because I couldn't verify all the stuff on that long list. If he vandalizes Corellia one more time, tho, he's getting a permaban. StarNeptune 20:19, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Some of the creatures on there admittedly don't belong to Corellia, or at least are not native. I just felt that you both had some good points: Hatheway in that there are quite a bit of creatures native to Corellia, you in that he has a SuperShadow like reliability. -- SFH 20:23, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

Speaking of Corellia, thanks for making Corellian into a real article. — Silly Dan 00:23, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Hey, I just got it started. You put in most of the material. -- SFH 00:23, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
