Weapon Categorization Revamp
- Hold off on implementing the Weapon Categorization Revamp until we have ratified all the changes (although I do appreciate the support). - Yeah, there probably should be some kind of header box on the main Weapons category at least, but I don't want to put it up too soon. I am going to get all the categories created first and link them together. Most of them are new, so they won't be populated. That will work to our advantage as we convert at least. I wonder if someone could program a bot to list every article in a Weapons category. The problem with the list is that people are going to be creating new articles or converting existing ones without updating it, so I'm going to have to go through and check every article manually anyways. - Those are intentional. Since Demolitions is a mixed category, I decided to "promote" the Grenades and Mines subcategories so they're not mixed in with the dozens of demolition type categories. – Brynn Alastayr 06:32, 9 October 2006 (UTC)
- Afterthought since a few people complained about them being too detailed. I wanted the specific ones in so that they could be used with the weapon template though. If you want something to do, start converting over the articles that are in categories that were moved, such as Grenades and Blaster pistols. - No, long-range doesn't make sense. There's no way to objectively populate that category. Sniper rifles, blasters at least, go under Category:Sporting blaster rifles. Other weapon systems don't require such precise subcategories. As far as moving articles, yes, all of them need to go to Category:Other weapons. Why can't Scepter of Power be in both categories?
Even if it belongs in Other, surely it also belongs in Category:Yuuzhan Vong weapons. I have to beleive that all Yuuzhan Vong weapons belong there. Will (talk -- contribs) 06:19, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
