Palpatine page
On the history page you you mentioned that I should respect your original version because you respected my original saber picture. You never respected my original picture because you replaced it even before the vote was done and then attempted a coup de'tat with some new lightsaber images. You are lucky the article got locked when it did because for now, as far as the article is concerned you have the last word.--DannyBoy7783 20:22, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I said I CAME TO respect it. At first it seemed unfair 'cause you didn't win the vote, but I now understand it came first and apologize. You should do the same in this case. But now it's locked anyway. --Master Starkeiller 20:24, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I should wait 3 weeks while I replace your wording and then if I lose apologize. That is the equivalent of what you did.--DannyBoy7783 22:19, 1 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Sheeesh, man, relax! Now you accuse me of seeing your point? R-E-L-A-X... I propose you listen to some relaxing music... Harry Belafonte maybe? Come on, sing with me...

Image Replacement
- Question -- What am I not seeing in the Editing Image pages? I'm helping JustinGann brighten the images he has been uploading, but I'm not sure how to replace the old version with the new one. Everytime I try, I'm just making doubles of the same image and I don't think anyone wants to deal with deleting all of the doubles. I've seen you replace images before so how do you do it? DarthMaul431 22:04, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, it's easy. Name the brightened pic just like the one in the Wiki you want to replace. For example, if the image you want to replace is called {File:The Sith Own The Universe.JPG}, just name the brightened pic {File:The Sith Own The Universe.JPG} and upload it. --Master Starkeiller 22:12, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I tried that two different ways. First I named it exactly as the original, but when it uploaded it changed the .jpg to .JPG. Then the second time, on the upload screen, I changed it to .JPG before the upload. After the upload it brought me to the original dark image with mine nowhere to be found. What am I doing wrong? DarthMaul431 22:19, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- In the second case, refresh the page and I think you're in for a surprise! --Master Starkeiller 22:22, 2 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Image Replacement (something else)
I'm just giving you a head up because I'm seeing a pattern of this but it is kind of rude and a bit frustrating for people to have their images uploaded with something else like what you did to QuentinGeorge over at the Plo Koon page. If it is appropriate that's fine but the image was called PloKoonheadshot for a reason. What you replaced it with was not a head shot. I know that no one has an actual claim over content here but it's insulting to do that to someone in this case. I did it to his picture because I simply cleaned it up a little bit but what you did was uncalled for. It wouldn't kill you to upload whatever image you think is better with an appropriate file name. A full body shot does not constitute a head shot. Please be more considerate of the images that users upload.--DannyBoy7783 15:39, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I'll give it a try. When the image is total trash though (like Elan's pic that I replaced), such tact is unneeded. --Master Starkeiller 15:41, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe it is the fact that you aren't a native english speaker or something but what is up with your constant use of extreme adjectives? "Total trash"? That is a bit harsh Starkeiller. Also, once I cleaned it up in photoshop it looked a bit better. If you are going to replace it you should include an image the same but of higher quality or an image that is very close to it. You simply replaced the image I think to save on work which is lazy. If your picture doesn't fit the image name or isn't like the image at all then don't replace it. It's fine to disagree with an image but don't replace the actual image with another one unless you have good reason. In this situation you should have uploaded a different one and edited the text. This is similiar to what you did with my lightsaber picture. This isn't a grudge or anything Starkeiller. I'm simply letting you know it is frustrating for other users and you should be aware of that.--DannyBoy7783 15:58, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- And I replied that I'll try unless the picture's total trash. Had you even seen that picture I'm talking about? It's the Sleazebaggano pic. The character was barely visible. And what's wrong with being lazy anyway? It's not like I'm hurting the site or anything, I have the right to be lazy. The name of the picture isn't important after all, the pic description in the page it is used is, and I always change that. I'll take into consideration the uploader's feelings about the pic next time, if it isn't total trash, I assure you. --Master Starkeiller 16:07, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- I do not know the image you are talking about. I'm only talking about the Plo Koon image. The reason it is better to upload the file with a different name is in case a disagreement comes up. It's better to leave oth images intact.--DannyBoy7783 16:21, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)

You can't imagine how bad it was before I replaced it. Trust me, total trash. The Plo Koon picture wasn't bad, I just felt we needed a full-body. Now it's reverted. No harm done. --Master Starkeiller 16:24, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- It wasn't that bad...it had some low-res pixelation going on but it's not that bad. Please don't be so melodramatic. It's really not necessary. People take time to find pictures and try and improve this place. Insulting that isn't helpful. I called your writing crap so you can rip on my pictures if it will make you feel better but have Darth Fisto or QuentinGeorge? If not I would try and be a bit more diplomatic about issues you have with their work.--DannyBoy7783 16:31, 5 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Please do not blank your talk page, no matter how infuriating it is. You may, however, archive it as you like (perhaps under a subpage named "DO NOT CLICK"). --Imp 20:12, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Who knows, maybe you both can look at this archive in the future and laugh. --Imp 20:21, 6 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Full stops in captions
Full stops in captions are considered proper in almost every style guide I can find. Is there a guide you're following that says otherwise? --SparqMan 19:10, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- In Wookiepedia, captions have no fullstops. Captions that do are a minority to say the least. I prefer it like this, other Wookiepedians seem to agree, so there's no reason to change the whole site. --Master Starkeiller 19:12, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
In Wookieepedia, we follow the Wikipedia style guide unless defined otherwise in our Manual of Style. Following Wikipedia:Captions, we do use fullstops on captions. The fact that a lot of captions are incorrect doesn't mean it's our policy, so it's something we should strive to correct. Sorry if you prefer otherwise, but every major layout style guide disagrees with you. --SparqMan 20:00, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Crap... That means I'll have to use fullstops. Oh, well... --Master Starkeiller 20:04, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- SparqMan, as long as I've been here, we never use fullstops. Admiral J. Nebulax 18:22, 14 Jan 2006 (UTC)
Bastila vs Revan
Pardon me, but Bastila and Darth Revan did cross blades as per several cutscenes KEJ 19:26, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
- Not at that scene though. He got shot be Malak before they crossed blades. Right? I may be mistaken, but I remember the Jedi coming towards him, him in a defensive stance and then BOOM! --Master Starkeiller 19:28, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Cropping photos
You seem to be known for cropping and fixing photos, so I come to ask a favor. I uploaded several photos that are now on the Hundred Year Darkness page, as you can see I am a mess when working with photoshop. Any suggestions on how to improve the pics or perhaps to provide a uniform background for all of them?Cull Tremayne 03:27, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- In Photoshop, the only thing I really know is cropping (and erasing). I don't really know how to work the program. So, my suggestion: crop anything that looks ugly. I will do just that with the pics you uploaded. --Master Starkeiller 11:19, 7 February 2006 (UTC)
- Looks quite a bit better, nice work. Cull Tremayne 01:02, 8 February 2006 (UTC)

- Hey I noticed you changed a few (-)s to (&mdash)'s (on Artus Prime not sure if you did the others I'm thinking of). Any reason for that? It's not a problem, just I think that (-) looks better in most instances. HavetStorm 20:38, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

Eeck... Don't you think that a 728 KB PNG is a little too much? Can you please reupload it as a JPEG? - Sikon [Talk] 13:47, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- But PNG is better than JPEG. And big pictures are always better than small pictures. Big PNG pictures are what we need. --Master Starkeiller 13:49, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
- I think Sikon has a point though. We'll never use an image that big in an article so why have it that big to start with? I tend to go over the recomended data size but I try and reduce the images down to a reasonable dimension to help curb that.--DannyBoy7783 01:36, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, but you misunderstand. PNG is not "better" than JPEG. There is no such thing as a better or worse format, since each format serves its purpose. PNG is designed for things like logos, diagrams, program window screenshots - in short, images with relatively few colors and sharp borders between colored areas. JPEG is designed for images with natural colors. It compresses them effectively, but with artifacts - JPEG is lossy compression. However, if the original image was a JPEG or a movie screenshot (and almost all video formats use lossy compression), resaving itin a lossless format such as PNG will obviously not restore the losses. Saving the image in question as a PNG doesn't provide better quality, it only unnecessarily bloats the image size, consuming disk space, increasing traffic and giving a headache to people for whom traffic means trouble (like me). Considering high-resolution images, I believe it deserves a separate discussion in the CP (or even CT), because Wikipedia doesn't use them due to concerns that it doesn't constitute fair use. But for now, I limit my concern to the format. - Sikon [Talk] 06:10, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- "The bigger the better" is the way I think when uploading images. And I prefer PNG. But reuploaded this one in JPG and replaced it in the article. --Master Starkeiller 12:37, 17 March 2006 (UTC)
- While I tend to agree...it gets to a point where it's big enough and going any bigger won't make it better.--DannyBoy7783 00:19, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

The Kit Fisto Death Picture
I'm talking about the pic with him and Palpatine. I can't really remember that from the movie. Jack Nebulax suggested i took it here and asked you if you had changed the picture, by any way. So, my question is listed above, and please answer it. Master Secura
- No, I have not changed the picture by any way. --Master Starkeiller 20:26, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- If so, can you tell me when exactly in the movie this shot happens. Master Secura
- Never. In the movie the angle is different. My mistake was putting the film-screenshot tag. I changed it to fairuse and everything's fine. --Master Starkeiller 20:30, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- So, where did you get it from if it isn't from the movie? Master Secura
- I don't remember. I didn't even remember that I uploaded it. Why is it so important? It's fine pic, is it a problem that it shows the movie scene from a different angle? --Master Starkeiller 20:38, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

- Ah well...it was worth a shot, and if you ever want to test your French skills then feel free to head on over to here and take a look at any of the many articles I have but can't read. :P —Jaymach Ral'Tir (talk) 14:19, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

This appears to be a duplicate of the previously uploaded Masterobiwan.jpg. I realize yours has already been added to the Obi-Wan Kenobi article, but it looks as though the other has been used in several other articles. Perhaps yours could be deleted and the other entered in its place in the Obi-Wan article? - the Ash lad 10:45, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, let's see which one's better and keep it. So, which one do we keep? thumb|100px|center thumb|100px|center --Master Starkeiller 18:30, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I have no preference since they're virtually identical with the exception of some mild cropping. I was just going with the one that had already been used in the most articles. Here's a larger version of the image, though, if you're interested. thumb|100px|center - the Ash lad 20:30, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- We're going for the best one then. I uploaded the best version as the one most used. That is, Masterobiwan is now the big one and the others are candidates for deletion. --Master Starkeiller 20:31, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Cool beans. Thanks for taking care of that. ^_^ - the Ash lad 20:42, 24 June 2006 (UTC)

Pictures.
Listen, Starkeiller, we're friends, but it's just that having some of those images in certain places could cause them to overlap or cover text for me. You're right. This is very immature. But I'm only doing it because I—and possibly others—have this problem. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 14:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- No, it's just that I've come to a terrible realization: HOW MUCH TIME FROM MY LIFE I HAVE LOST MOVING AROUND STUPID PICTURES!!!! It idiotic. I'll leave image placement to you, as I retire. --Master Starkeiller 14:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Come on, buddy, don't do this. If you think you wasted time, what about me? Have I wasted my entire life then because I move pictures around, too? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 14:11, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I do think it is one of the most stupid ways to waste one's time... --Master Starkeiller 14:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Is it? We were both trying to improve the article, were we not? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 14:14, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Even if it is improved in this minor way, who fuckin' cares? What's the impact of a picture in some article being one centimeter upwards from where it used to be? --Master Starkeiller 14:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- You'd be surprised. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 15:39, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Anyway, I'm sorry, Starkeiller. You're a good friend, and I hate to see you like this. And I'd hate to see you leave for good. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 16:23, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nothing to be sorry about. I guess I'll be back when I've made up for all the time I lost in image placement arguements. But while I browse around Wookieepedia, the lure of the dark side is strong; I just HAVE to move those damn images and it's so stupidly pointless... I trust I'll find you here? --Master Starkeiller 18:46, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- To tell you the truth, I really don't follow you around. Normally, I just look at a couple of articles, and if I see that a picture is causing a problem, I try to find a better place for it. Today, I just happened to be looking on the Anakin Skywalker article. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 18:54, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, keep an eye on all those articles while I'm away then! --Master Starkeiller 18:57, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's going to be hard to do... Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 18:57, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, not ALL of 'em... --Master Starkeiller 18:58, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, most of the articles I really don't care about where the images are, so that cuts it down to about a handful. ;) Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 19:00, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- THAT'S THE ATTITUDE! :File:skull.gif --Master Starkeiller 19:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- On another note, are you going to put your user page back up? Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 19:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely, just not in the very immediate future. --Master Starkeiller 19:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- I was hoping you would. Fleet Admiral J. Nebulax (Imperial Holovision) 20px 19:07, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
