Re: TFA Novelization

Hey, MugaSofer! My reason for marking TFA novels as canon is found in the WP canon policy: "All officially-licensed source material released following the September 2, 2014 novel A New Dawn [are considered official canon, unless an exception is made];" no other statements applying to the Episode VII novels are found. The quote from Del Rey regarding film novelizations was made following the reboot, yet it applies only to "the 6 films and the Clone Wars animated movie." I understand the logic in treating Episode VII material the same way, but there's no grounds for it. Also, I think I remember someone (Pablo Hidalgo?) Tweeting about the Episode VII novels being canon, except for moments of direct contradiction, such as extended dialogue. Either way, it may be worth opening a discussion in the Senate Hall. I'm sure someone has solid reasoning. Cwedin(talk) 21:43, January 17, 2016 (UTC)
