Last of the Jedi
Hey, I read on your user page that you've read all the The Last of the Jedi books, and I had a question for you about The Last of the Jedi: The Desperate Mission. In my copy, on pages 33-34, it talks about Obi-Wan Kenobi, and how he's fleeing from 2 stormtroopers. On page 33, the stormtroopers are said to be driving speeder bikes, but on page 34, it says swoops, not speeder bikes. I wanted to be sure that your copy has the same thing, and mine isn't a typo, before I add swoop to the Appearances section for The Desperate Mission. Thanks! Duchess Jade 06:07, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Correct. Both "speeder bikes" and "swoops" are used, and the latter is also used at the bottom of page 33. Let me know if you have any more questions. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 17:03, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
- No, I haven't got any more questions. Again, thank you very much for your help. Duchess Jade 18:27, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

left|300px Hey, MJ, it's me again. I believe you have a Hyperspace subscription, don't you? The article Underworld Appendix: Swoops, Spice, and Wretched Rogues appears to have some information about Grave Tuskens, and I'd like to know if it mentions Maw somewhere. Could you check it? QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 10:12, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, it appears to have been taken down in the 2008 site
updatepurge, and Hyperspace stuff doesn't show up on archive.org because of the pay wall. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 17:08, March 28, 2010 (UTC)- This damned pit droid again :P Well, I'll keep searching the Internets, maybe there's a copy floating around somewhere. Thanks for the help anyway. QuiGonJinn 20px(Talk) 17:31, March 28, 2010 (UTC)
Clone commander
Could you maybe fix the linking error in Unidentified clone trooper commander ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 18:58, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
- It would be best, MJ, if you could teach him how to cite external links using the citeweb template, rather than just fixing it for him, so that he learns how to do this. Toprawa and Ralltiir 19:01, March 29, 2010 (UTC)
- First, the cite error comes from the fact that you put the URL in the wrong place; it should be between the <ref> </ref> tags. The "name" parameter isn't necessary here, since the source is only used once. Second, as Toprawa mentioned above, you should use {{Cite web}} when sourcing to an external link. Basically, the format is <ref>{{Cite web|whatever parameters are appropriate for the link in question}}</ref> . Which parameters should be used with the template vary depending on the source in question, but always include url, title, and accessdate at the bare minimum. For this instance, I believe those three would be all you should need. Let me know if you have any questions. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 22:58, March 29, 2010 (UTC)

CSWE
Could you please if Jurokk has an entry in The Complete Star Wars Encyclopedia ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 18:59, April 2, 2010 (UTC)
- See Forum:Entry requests#Jurokk. In the future, requests for CSWE entries can be placed on that page, and you'll usually get a quicker response there than by asking an individual user on their talk page. :) —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 19:29, April 2, 2010 (UTC)

Linking
What should I do if I have to source an external link twice ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 17:52, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
- Same way you source a novel or TCW episode twice. Use the same format that I described above for the first instance, except add the "name" attribute to the ref tag. It should look something like this:
<ref name="Hasbro">{{Cite web| ...}}</ref>, replacing "Hasbro" with a brief description of the source. For the second instance, just use<ref name="Hasbro" />to automatically insert the same reference again. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 18:00, April 10, 2010 (UTC)- Thank you. And for a single reference of a source on a web page; e.g. Databank, Star Wars Insider ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 18:22, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
- For a single instance, either way (with or without the "name" attribute) is acceptable. Technically, a single instance shouldn't use it, but I don't know of anyone that will object to it being there. Generally, I always use named refs, since the "name" shows up in the URL at the bottom of the screen when you hover over the [5], giving a quick indication as to what the source is without having to jump down to the reflist to look it up. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 19:32, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Jurokk
Could you give Jurokk a copy-edit and (perhaps) a review ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 14:24, April 17, 2010 (UTC)
- Done. Both the intro and bio start with the exact same wording; I would suggest that you change one. Otherwise, I have no objections, but the ACs may have some. Let me know if you have any questions. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 16:30, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

- Is there anything wrong with the quote template ? Clone Commander Lee Talk 19:02, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
- What Xd is objecting to appears to be that he wants the proper template code (i.e. {{Quote|blah blah blah''"<br />"''response|Two people|source}}), not the raw code that you used for the lead quote. However, that is impossible with this quote, as the template is incompatible with [bracketed action descriptions], so raw code must be used. The code you used is correct, so just let him know that and it should be good. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 20:04, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

Hey MJ,
Can you run through Matta Tremayne when you have the time please? Same terms as usual, any issues let me know. Thanks in advance.—Tommy 9281 17:55, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Also, Ravilan. I'm teaching an up-and-coming Wookieepedian the ropes, and this article is one of my training tools. If you have any objections to this article, you can leave them on the young man's talkpage, and he and I will address them. Thanks again.—Tommy 9281 18:00, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Both done, and I'll be leaving a list of objection on his talk page in a few minutes. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 22:34, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
Re: Ravilan
Thank you for your work on the article and your feedback, it is most appreciated. So, about the objections:
- "With first priority to protect the cargo of Lignan crystals, Omen made preparations to go into hyperspace. But before they could jump, Harbinger started producing nonsensical sensor readings and began to lean very close to Omen, about to collide. Fortunately, at the last moment the ship's experienced navigator, Boyle Marcom, engaged the hyperdrive, sending Omen into hyperspace." Is that better?
- Looks good, but the "fortunately" should be axed as it's POV. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I'll change whenever I mention "Adari" to "Vaal" apart from when I first mention her. And I'll do the same for other characters who have different last names.
- No problem, I'll source that to Fall of the Sith Empire.
- Do the paragraphs all have to be a specific size? I was not aware that having different shaped paragraphs was a problem. What do you recommend?
- They can be as long or as short as you want them (within reason, of course), but you should generally strive to keep them as close to the same size as reasonably possible. This is primarily an aesthetics issue, as it's visually jarring to go from really long paragraphs to really short ones, and in extreme cases, it can also make the article difficult to read. Just try to break up large paragraphs into two or three smaller ones and/or combine short paragraphs into one so that as many as possible are roughly similar in size. Sometimes you'll have one or two paragraphs (particularly at the very beginning and end of the bio) that just have to be really short, and that's OK, just as long as the majority of the paragraphs are similar in length. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- I was aware of the underlinking too, but I thought that you could only link to a specific article once so as the article grew the number of links became less.
- Correct, but don't forget that new subjects are introduced as you progress through the article. Just in the "Crisis at Tetsubal" section alone, I spotted four missing links with just a quick scan: Ragnos Lakes, Tetsubal, Cyanogen silicate, and Takara Mountains. There's probably others, too. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- OK, thank you, I'll remove that then.
- In the actual source it says: "The guard stepped forward—and Ravilan saw the animal form of Jariad Korsin coming at him, blade drawn, the wild-eyed face of his father under jet-black hair. The teenager leapt at the prisoner, wielding a jagged vibroblade without remorse. At the last, he drew his lightsaber and cut Ravilan down in a violent flash of crimson." I was confused when I read this and what I wrote in the article may reflect this as you have picked up. I was not really sure how to say it without exactly writing what it says in the actual source.
- Try to at least mention that he drew the lightsaber before cutting him down, then, so it's clear where the lightsaber came from. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- When I was writing the article I made sure that everything I wrote was correct to the source, and so I did not write any fanon or OR, I am not sure what points you think are original research on my part. The only part I can think of is "therefore suggesting that he considered himself related to the Dark Jedi in some way" i the personality and traits section, which was not directly said in the ebook, but it was implied. Should I remove that?
- Yes, you should; if it's not directly stated, then it counts as OR. The other statement to which I was referring was this one: "Yaru Korsin had the belief that Ravilan looked as pure-blooded as possible for a Red Sith, therefore Ravilan had a crimson skin and yellow eyes, as well as eyebrow-stalks and cheek tendrils which were characteristics of the Sith species." Check everything after the word "therefore"; if it's not directly stated that Ravilan has all of those features, then it's OR and needs to be removed. Saying that he had those features based only on the statement that he looked pure-blooded is still considered OR. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
Again, thank you. :) —Obi-wan Jacobi 17px 23:40, April 20, 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 00:13, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- OK, thank you, I tried to fix up all of those points. However, I still can't find enough things to link, I got a few but not many, and it still looks very blank—but it is better. Also, I couldn't really entirely fix the paragraph thing, but most of them are the same size now, with 2 or 3 large paragraphs and 1 or 2 small ones as exceptions. —Obi-wan Jacobi 17px 03:10, April 21, 2010 (UTC)
- Looks better. I would give it a second copy-edit right now, but I'm dealing with a case of food poisoning and don't want to sit in front of the computer for too long. Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 16:14, April 22, 2010 (UTC)

Done. Two objections:
"CT-9/85 received a signal from one of the ARC troopers accompanying Fisto and Kenobi on priority consecution and informed Admiral Baraka.": Consecution does not appear to be the right word here, and I'm not sure what you're trying to say.In the intro, you say that the Five Families were "controlled by" the CIS, while in the body you say that they "cooperated with" the CIS. Those two terms are not the same, so which was it?

OOM commander
Why did you revert my edit to the battle droid from Legacy of Terror? He's not a B1 droid; the yellow markings prove him to be an OOM commander as well as O.M.5 and the other commander that was there with the tank. And since other such unidentified droids use the kind of name I used (e.g. OOM command battle droid 1 (Teth), OOM command battle droid 2 (Teth)), I don't see why all my edits are reverted. But most importantly (which alot of people failed to notice), those are not normal units. --Mateo22 20pxContact 01:26, May 4, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't know what you're talking about with regard to reverting; all I did was move the article to its proper name as specified by our article naming policy. In that regard, the aforementioned naming policy specifies that characters (which includes individual droids) that are not identified in the source should be titled as "Unidentified ...whatever". The other articles that you linked are incorrectly named; they should be prepended with "Unidentified" also. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 01:34, May 4, 2010 (UTC)
- I see what you mean, but what about all of the other unidentified OOM command battle droid pages? Every single one is named without "Unidentified" in the beginning, and that made me think that those droids were some kind of exception to this regular policy with unnamed character pages. Do all of those have to be renamed with the Unidentified in them also? I'll do it myself in that regard. --Mateo22 20pxContact 01:40, May 4, 2010 (UTC)
- Correct; all of those pages should be moved to "Unidentified... whatever". I'd do it myself, but I'm getting ready to go to bed. If you want to tackle it, feel free. :) —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 01:44, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

KB thread
Just FYI, the contributor of the original question also added the nonsense answer. He probably just wanted to abuse the forum. The IPs aren't exactly the same; only the last number is different. -- 1358 (Talk) 18:35, May 12, 2010 (UTC)
- "The IPs aren't exactly the same": Precisely. A WHOIS report on the IPs comes back to a university (I forget which one now), which leads me to believe that the original contributor (x.x.x.26) is a student sitting in a computer lab, and the other two IPs are probably two other students sitting nearby that saw what he/she was doing and decided to play games. I highly doubt that they are the same person, particularly when x.x.x.26 didn't do anything wrong and in fact was trying to be serious and also removed the others' nonsense. —Master Jonathan(Jedi Council Chambers) 20:59, May 12, 2010 (UTC)

Master Jonathan, You don't have to be so mean. All I wanted to do was post charracters from my soon-to-be-published book on here since they"ll be on here shrtly when my book gets published. I have only been a member on here for a few months and frankly I do not understand the rules of this site. I understand you not want "fannon", but you see, I don't even know what that is! I have been blocked twice because I just don"t understand. Sometimes I think that I have a great idea for a page like Star Wars jokes because I know people want to have some laughs, but nooo. I can't because it's "fannon." Please respond to my e-mail. I just want to understand that's all.
Thank you for your time, Cc-7567 lover
