Source of Information and possible Copyright Violations

Vermilion has informed me that you are copying information from a website, that is not Wikipedia, and posting it here as your own. That is plagiarism. I would hope that this was not intentional, and that your future contributions are in your own words, or at least paraphrases of your sources. It also helps if you cite your sources at the bottom of the page. -- Riffsyphon1024 06:28, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Easy Peasy Actually all of the entries that you're reffering to are mine, from the website About Star Wars. Go ahead and ask the Webmaster if you want. --Kosure 20:16, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC) Actually If you'll notice, all of the Entries that I've copied are attributed to Tyler Sherman.... Thats me. (Man, I never thought I'd have a problem with anything like this) --Kosure 20:33, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

  • But does he allow people to copy information word for word from his site? -- Riffsyphon1024 20:10, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Well, If not they'll have to come down from his, beacuse they're my articles. --Kosure 20:16, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
  • Also, I saw the bit about Categories, and will do that in the future. I'm new to this Wiki thing. :)
    • Kosure, don't sweat the whole copyright issue. I'm sure it'll all get sorted out once someone emails that webmaster. In the mean time, please don't go posting the same thing on the talk page of every article you've contributed. It's kind of flooding the Recent Changes. Thanks. -- Aidje 23:01, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)
    • Thanks Aidge, I just wanted to make sure everyone heard my side of the story. I'm still new at theis whole wiki thing, So any advice, or help, (if i make a faux pas) would be greatly appreciated. --Kosure 01:00, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
      • You're welcome (and thanks for being receptive rather than biting my head off, as some are accustomed to doing). By the way, I noticed after I made my last comment here that you were probably saying the same thing on all of those talk pages because someone had marked those particular articles with the copyvio tag. In that case, your actions do make more sense than I initially realized, but it's still probably best to keep the discussion in one place (probably on the Community Portal, where most of it's going on). -- Aidje 13:25, 29 Apr 2005 (UTC)
