Gaff in AGTTSWU2nd
Hey, JSarek. I forgot to ask you way back when you posted the entry on the Aliens boards: What page is Gaff's entry on in A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (Second Edition)? And is there an entry for Bubo(iculaar) and/or frog-dog? Thanks, ~ SavageBob 04:23, January 10, 2010 (UTC)

craniopod
about craniopod -
- Bith does not have an 's' in front of it in plural
- "during the New Republic" doesn't make sense and they probably meant New Republic era
i have no idea why you reverted my edits Asdf1239 08:10, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Edit problems
I'm having a lot of problems adding to older talk pages because of the new rules about image linking- whenever there's an image ALREADY linked in a talk page, it automatically blocks my edits, even though I DON'T add any images.
For example, I was just about to add the following to the TIE Advanced x1 talk page, on the subject of the cluster missile launchers in Rogue Leader: "Shouldn't they at LEAST be mentioned in the Behind the Scenes section? I mean, we have a Cluster Missiles article, and those ARE the kind of missiles Vader's fighter uses in the RS games... In any case, if there IS a conflict between game mechanics and canon, that in itself is automatically worthy of mention in BTS section, IMHO."
I wasn't allowed to add that, since, as there are already images earlier in the talk page, the system apparently thinks I'm trying to add NEW images!
What should I DO? I mean, I'm fairly certain I'm doing nothing wrong, and this seems like a HUGE glitch... Dewback rancher 17:03, February 18, 2010 (UTC)

Repeated reference in a row
I'm sorry, I don't follow your explanation: "if a sentence was created from two or more sources, that both were citied for that sentence. Let's image this paragraph: aaaa.[1] bbbb.[2] cccc.[1][2] Sentence aaaa is sourced in [1]; sentence bbbb is sourced in [2]; sentence cccc is sourced both in [1] and [2]. But you add: dddd.[1] eeee.[1] meaning that both dddd and eeee are sourced in [1]. So, what's the difference between that and dddd. eeee.[1] ? Skippy Farlstendoiro 10:04, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
- I was referring to cases like aaaa.[1] bbbb,[2] cccc.[3] dddd.[3] The middle sentence has two different sources; if you left the citation off the "cccc" part, it might be hard to tell whether a citation was skipped or not. jSarek 10:26, April 13, 2010 (UTC)
Hoszh Iszhir
Here ya go:
- Hoszh Iszhir: This planet had an arid and poisonous environment. Half its surface was covered with desert. The other half was blanketed by a toxic atmosphere. Despite that combination, life managed to evolve. Most creatures were predators, and from them emerged the planet's only form of sentient life, the Gektls. The planet had rich lodes of guerrerite and other precious metals, so the Gektls established a planetary defense shield for protection against invasion. The system worked well for many generations, until Stafuv Rahz traded the shield codes to the Empire for a military commission. The Empire swooped in and subjugated the Gektls, then took control of the planet's mining operations. The Gektls were forced into slavery, toiling in the mines while the Empire reaped the profits.

Sin "Siin" Suub - 4 years later
Greetings, JSarek.
Let me tell you about the article on Chairman S. Suub of Sorosuub. As of January 2006, I created the article on Siin Suub, using The Star Wars Sourcebook as a source. On November 2006, you moved it to Sin Suub, specifying it was the "5.1. correct spelling/grammar". I assumed you must have been right, as you've been here for more time than I've been and, as such, when I found a reference to Si Suub in Alliance Intelligence Reports on April 2007, I updated the article con Chairman Suub.
Point is, I've nominated Suub to "Comprehensive article", and I've been asked why the "1-I" spelling had been chosen, when the "2-I" spelling appeared repeatedly in previous sources. As of me, I would change the article to "2-I", but I wouldn't want to start an old edit war or anything - particularly not without first hearing your reasons to prefer "1-I" even before the 1-I source had been added to the article.
Waiting for your answer, Skippy Farlstendoiro 08:41, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
The Written Word
Hey, guy. Saw you wrote this (and by virtue, this, too). There was an alphabet in the background of the character select screen in Star Wars: Racer Revenge that I didn't see specifically identified in your Hyperspace article or the follow-up blog or the fonts page you linked to.
It's rather an extensive alphabet, and I was able to find and match images for all 26 English letters except X in a single Youtube vid. I'm probably going to try and figure out how to SVG the letters and add the alphabet in the next few weeks under a conjectural title like Unidentified podracer Basic, or something. I wondered if you had any input before I did this. Based on your hyperspace article, I'd say it's Rakatan in origin, but beyond that and the direct English translation, I've got nothing. The Written Word...s
Hey jSarek, I've done up the The Written Word and The Written Word: A Brief Introduction to the Writing Systems of Galactic Basic in the hopes of being able to eventually perhaps possibly FA them—I was just wondering if there was anything in either of them that's making you go "No... no... no. I did not think that." Cheers, Thefourdotelipsis 08:01, June 10, 2010 (UTC)
Administrator
I don't know if your aware of this, but one of the Administrators is acting unprofessionally and being quite rude. I thought that Administrators were suppose to set and example and help people. I don't want to get in trouble or anybody else, but someone needs to know about this guy. I hope he doesn't block me for saying this either. I went to ask him a question and saw that another member asked him why he used profane words and several of his friends have left because of it, and he responded with, "Wookieepedia is not censored. You are more than welcome to join your friends in departing. Depending on how annoying you get, I may have to assist you in doing so". His name is Darth Culator. Please, I am just trying to make you aware of this, not get anyone into trouble. I also don't want to be blocked or something if he gets mad. I thought I would make sure you are aware. I have also told other Bureaucrats.--===DARTHRAGE=== 01:45, July 16, 2010 (UTC)DarthRage
Some written words ;-)
If I may introduce myself, my name is Alban Leloup. I'm from Belgium and I'm one of those modest Wookieepedia editors -known there under the guise of LelalMekha, as you can see. I wanted to write to you, for I was very impressed by your Hyperspace article "the Written Word", not only as a Star Wars fan indeed, but also as a huge lover of linguistics and languages in general.
I had long thought it was a pity for the Star Wars universe having such underdeveloped artificial languages ; since then, Mrs Karen Travis came up with her Mandalorian, but though I think that was great, I was a bit disappointed other important SW languages would never be given such an 'upgrade'.
I decided -for my own, fanonish, geekish pleasure* of course- I would try and expand 'Sithese', which has only a few words and not any grammar as of yet. I notably tried to deduce grasps of a possible grammar, based on the slim words and phrases corpus. Inspired by your article and a reference from The Freedon Nadd Uprising, I came up with an idea of a High Sith 'alphabet'. I would consider an honor if you'd accept to have a look on what I did, just from fan to fan indeed. I'm quite conscious the request might look awkward to you, indeed. :p But, you know, I think I wouldn't have the occasion to discuss both Star Wars AND linguistics with any other person than you.
Regards
- Shameful, isn't it ?
P.S. I might ask you not to blame me with my English, it seems it has gone rusty and might not be always correct... LelalMekha 17:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Cracian
Hey, jSarek. I was recently combing through some of our sentient species articles trying to fix stuff here and there. (We tend to categorize things as species when the original source doesn't necessarily indicate as much, so it's good to check every once in a while for this sort of thing!) At any rate, I think Cracian may have been miscategorized as a species when it should instead be an undefined social group. In your research on Cracian thumper, did you find anything to indicate that Cracian refers to a species as opposed to a system demonym (like Corellian)? ~ SavageBob 23:17, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
- Not with any certainty. The Thrawn Trilogy Sourcebook is specific that the Cracians are native to the thumper's world of origin (even though it has five such worlds), which generally implies a distinct species but by no means ensures it. I made sure the text of the Cracian article reflected that (it only calls them a "people," not a "species"), but it seems I wasn't so careful when trying to categorize them. jSarek 11:17, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
- No worries. I've recategorized the article as an "Undefined social group" per the uncertainty. Thanks for the reply! ~ SavageBob 14:27, September 6, 2010 (UTC)
Kabieroun writing
Hey, jSarek, me again. I was curious about your opinion on something. The alien in this image has a jumpsuit with some sort of writing on it. I'm guessing the artist just made the script up, but does it look like anything you came across in your "Written Word" research? Thanks for any pointers. ~ SavageBob 02:27, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
- Alas, no. Although a couple of the symbols slightly resemble Futhork, the resemblance is slight and probably coincidental. And to make things more
complicatedinteresting, the writing in that image doesn't exactly match up with the writing in the Mike Vilardi portrait of the exact same alien seen in Star Wars Adventure Journal 8. jSarek 03:00, September 29, 2010 (UTC)- I figured it was just made up. And Vilardi probably thought no one would ever even think to compare the two. (Little did he know...) Oh well; fodder for the sequel to your article, I suppose! :) ~ SavageBob 05:03, September 29, 2010 (UTC)
I didn't know that was a name. . .
Hello, my name is Tej, and I have a question to ask you regarding putting my character on Wookiepedia, and whether or not I can squeeze him into the great information and story machine that is Star Wars. First of all, my name is not Tej, it is the name of my character, but for sake of argument I am putting it down as Tej. To give you a fairly short description, he lives in the time of Darth Krayt, around 130 ABY.
He first serves Learza the Hutt, a minor crime Lord, as a bounty hunter, but after he crashes his ship he ends up going to the Jedi temple and works for the Jedi as a ranger; he didn't have the radical views most mercenaries like him had against the Jedi and also never liked working as a Bounty Hunter. After successfully destroying Learza's operation, but experiencing the death of an Elder Jedi Master, Tej requests he be trained as a padawan, and the council votes yes, and he trains under Master Thomas Haxon. Probably the most remarkable thing he does is, at one point help defend Emperor Roan Fel from rogue dark side mercenaries alongside two Imperial Knights during a meeting of the Galactic Congress. He soon attains the title of Knight, and is a successful Jedi. Soon before he receives the title of Master, however, he goes to Kamino, guided by visions, and discovers he was an experiment by the cloners that was, in the end, marked as a failure. He leaves, a bit disturbed, but returns to the Temple.
However, shortly after he arrives, Darth Nihl begins his storm on the Ossus temple with Stormtroopers. Tej escapes with his old Master, Thomas Haxon, 5 padawans, and 3 Masters. Afterwards, he and his Master join the Rebellion under Admiral Stazi and form an elite army of soldiers called DarkStar Troopers, which is an 100 man group with 10 squads of 10 men each, with Haxon at its head as General and Tej as the leader of the 8th legion. Shortly after this, they engage a fleet of Star Destroyers led by Darth Xerzis, Darth Krayt's 3rd apprentice, and manage to obliterate the bridge of his Super Star Destroyer. The hyperdrive on the Destroyer malfunctions and sends the ship directly to Coruscant, where it is crash landed into the Old Jedi Temple. Darth Xerzis and some trained Dark Side Assasins await the arrival of the Jedi in the Old Council Room. A lightsaber duel takes place resulting in the death of Xerzis around the same time as his Master, but also the death of Thomas Haxon. Tej continues on to lead the Squad 8.
I apologize for the length of this message, but I felt it was fitting. If you like I could send you the entire, full bio so that you can read it in case I am allowed to post my character and his story. But a forewarning- the entire bio is 6 pages long, so beware. Also, just so you know, I personally created these characters, in addition to Tej-Darth Xerzis, Thomas Haxon, and Learza the Hutt. If there are any others you cannot find on Wookiepedia, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Tej Hanolsa--Master Tej 22:24, October 26, 2010 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for clarifying about the toothpaste rancors. Grand Moff Tranner was pretty upset about it! (he's an administrator, yikes!) I'll make sure to say that in the correct section. —Unsigned comment by Darthrexius (talk • contribs)
