  • Sorry, thought you were done. A lot of folks tend to just make very simple articles and leave it at that (not suggesting you do this, mind). Massacre at Ossus FA Nomination

At least some of the objections have been fixed by know, can you check it out so you can start striking them out. Besides some of your objections are ridicule such as

"These two sentences are just...horrible. "Unknown to him was that, that relationship between his Empire and the Jedi Order could never happen. The Jedi would never be loyal to an Empire supporting Siths, something Darth Krayt knew and one of the main reasons he planned the Massacre"

Yet I also fixed those "horrible" sentences. Dookurules338 13:40, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

  • It is the accepted format to respond to objections by replying to each one on the FAN page itself. Please do so in the future, following the example of other FA writers when they respond. Anyway, I have to be honest with you, as it stands, this article has little chance of becoming an FA.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 14:04, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

I can't take credit for Denning's dialogue—it is Lumiya who calls her bugslut, in case you didn't know! But by "the two major sections", you mean the Mission to Myrkr and the From Coruscant to Ebaq 9, right?

Thanks for the input. I'm racing to get up to The Joiner King done before I go away on Monday…

Duplicate Article Dispute

This is Admiral Jolyon. Can we talk about the Speedy Deletions you are doing? (Admiral jolyon 13:33, 6 July 2008 (UTC))

  • I know who you are by your sig. In regards to the CSDs, it's because you chose to unilaterally decide what was best for a number of articles, despite the fact that they were created by an Administrator with a considerable amount of experience on the wiki. I suggest that, in future, you take it up with the person before performing edits of that nature.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 13:37, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
    • I have asked the Administrator Thefourdotelipsis to discuss this, he has "not" responded. Perhaps I am impatient, but I worry about forgetting about the matter to often. I do want to help him but what he has done is also duplicated some articles as well. (Admiral jolyon 13:41, 6 July 2008 (UTC))
      • Patience, my young apprentice. He will either respond or not.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 13:43, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
        • Indeed. As you'll note, Admiral jolyon, he hasn't edited any pages since well before you left that message. He's probably away from his computer. Since people DO sleep, it may be several hours before you get a reply. jSarek 13:45, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Please forgive me. If you and other administrators can bring this to the Senate (if that is what it is called?) and we come to an agreement that will help a lot. I sometimes assume that it is the same time as the other party and I guess that asssumption is normally wrong. Note: It is my birthday today, I am 19 today (Admiral jolyon 13:48, 6 July 2008 (UTC))
    • Congratulations. However, may I suggest that you perhaps hold off on that? As the saying goes, sometimes we can make mountains out of molehills. Remember, part of editing here is the assumption of good faith on behalf of other users.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 13:51, 6 July 2008 (UTC)
  • Right. I assume you have Star Wars: TIE Fighter? (Admiral jolyon 13:55, 6 July 2008 (UTC))

  • I left a similar note on the forum for the meeting on the project page, and would like to express some concerns now, since I willnot be able to attend. I'm not naming any names, since it's not my style, but when I nominated Darth Malak for the GA, a few of the users at the time who were a part of the project seemed unwilling to help me, even though it's one of the main focuses of the project. I feel that when an article is nominated that is a focus of the project, no matter who nominated it, it should be improved by all members of the project if available.--Jedi Kasra (talk) 18:33, 14 July 2008 (UTC)

SOHK--REC

Sir Goodwood,

At your earliest convenience, a favor from you I can use please, in my restricted editing capacity. If you click on my name as it appears in my signature, you will find the Anvil. Under the section titled, "SOHK", please add a duel infobox directly under the title for me? With that, please add one of these: File:.jpg at 250px?

Also, there is a section titled "video games", with which you are well versed, much more so than I. I would appreciate any input you could lend in that area. You add to it or just give me advice, however you see fit. Of course, should you choose to, I will credit your assistance graciously.

If you can manage these things for me, I would be be most appreciative, and quite indebted to you. Thanks.Tommy9281 20px (Peace is a lie) 04:18, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

  • I'd be more than happy to do the merger, yes, as it was my intention to eventually FA Battle of Rakata Prime, however the current TC looks like it's stuck at "no consensus". Thank you for asking.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 05:01, 27 July 2008 (UTC)

Republic Army

  • The image on Republic Army is actually an image of Republic Crewman. Crewman is a navy term. And if you see the image that it was cropped from, you will notice that they are in the bridge of a Hammerhead-Class Cruiser. That is not army.
    Original image..

    Original image..

    • Within both KotOR games, both army and navy soldiers are shown with the same uniforms. Specifically, in the Ludo Kressh's tomb sequence of KotOR II, the Exile encounters a vision of forces of the Republic that served under her at the battle of Dxun. They are wearing the exact same uniforms, both enlisted and officer, as those shown in the above picture.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 06:59, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
      • But, the image was cropped from a picture of the republic navy, was it not? Nebulax 07:00, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
        • Possibly. However, in both games, the uniforms are used interchangeably. Therefore the assumption that the uniforms could represent the Army is a plausible one.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 07:02, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
          • The image is still of Repulbic Navy Members...
          • It doesn't matter if they wear the same uniforms; if it's not a picture of the Army it doesn't belong in the Army article. - Lord Hydronium 07:05, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
            • Your pardon, but the assumption is still a logical one. That, and the picture has been there for nearly two years.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 07:10, 28 July 2008 (UTC)
              • Again, it doesn't matter what you assume about the uniforms. It's not a picture of the Army. It doesn't belong in the Army article. Do not put it back in. - Lord Hydronium 07:15, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Laigrek

Hi, I noticed that after Laigrek reached FA status, you went and reverted a number of edits made by Toprawa and Ralltiir when he copy-edited the article as part of his Inquisitorius review. Also, changes you made which Toprawa requested in his review have been overturned, as well. I believe that this edit was in bad faith, and is most likely a reduction in quality from the article's final state when it passed review. Also, Toprawa and Ralltiir would not have approved the article with such portions that he removed. Mind you, Toprawa is an a very precarious position to go around reverting your bad-faith reverts, and I suspect there is more to these actions than is clearly shown by your changes, which are in violation of WP:POINT and the FA rules, as well as rather uncivil in their subversiveness. I am going to revert the edits, and a response with valid reasoning for your actions would be appreciated. Graestan(Talk) 22:45, 30 July 2008 (UTC)

  • While it is certainly understandable that you should feel this way about what I did to the Laigrek article, please understand that it was not done with any ulterior motive. In all honesty I felt that the article was of better quality this way, and having played the game from which it was derived multiple times, it was also felt that this gave me a better perspective on the subject (To add context to that remark, Toprawa himself has never played the game; this is not a failing, but something that should be considered). I cannot and therefore will not attempt to debate the validity of policy violations inherent in the edit. I would ask, however, that you allow me to demonstrate how my version (the one you reverted) was better; at the same time, perhaps we could come to a compromise between the two versions.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 23:07, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
    • Pointing out Toprawa's supposed failings is the absolute last thing I wanted to be reading.

KotOR project tasks

Hey Goodwood. First, let me say that its good to see you here. I know you don't know me and I'm fairly new to the Wook and the project, but I felt somewhat aimless without someone to direct our focus and fill our "leader" position. That said, I would really appreciate it if you could look over Telos IV and make any edits or whatnot as you see fit. For some reason I've lost my ability to look at it objectively (plus, I'm horrible at introductions). I've also asked Graestan for the same, since GA standards seem to have gone up a lot, and judging by the pace my Visas Marr GA nom is going I would rather have Telos keep its GA status than try to restore it. Thanks a lot. Cylka-talk- 17:48, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Thank you very much for that, Cylka. I'd be happy to take a look at the Telos IV article for you (as well as have a go at the intro if you'd like). Understood about the GA requirements; it doesn't seem right, but that's the will of the Wook, apparently. Looking forward to the meeting?--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 21:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC)

Changing links

Please try to be conscious to avoid this when changing links. Thanks, -- AdmirableAckbar (Talk) 16:55, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

  • Apologies if that disrupted the flow of the article, however I am not sure what exactly the issue is, since "CR90 Corellian Corvette" redirects to "CR90 corvette" anyway. The FarStar is a CR90 corvette, albeit heavily modified to the point where it barely resembles a vessel of that class.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 22:52, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: A-280 Blaster Rifle

Please provide the specific link and/or location of the information which states that this weapon was not in Battlefront I or II. This could, perhaps, be of benefit to the "Behind the scenes" section, pointing out the possibly incorrect nomenclature used within the game and/or publication surrounding thereof.

How about Wookieepedia's own page? DH-17_blaster_rifle

There was no "incorrect nomenclature within the game and/or publication surrounding thereof" (unnecessary obfuscation), since the A-280 article posted no sources as to why it was in Battlefront I or II. As seen in the linked article, any publication, official or otherwise, confirms that it is a DH-17.

Not that it makes a whole lot of difference, but why was it changed when this error was corrected earlier (albeit on an anonymous computer)? The same information (about this being available at the Lucasarts page) was made available; it's no more than a 30-second hop over there to confirm it. --Maveritchell (talk)22:46, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

  • A link always helps; in any case, it should be provided for the article.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 22:53, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Links were provided for the article - the DH-17 article. There are no links for the A-280 article because it is incorrect and unsupported information.
      • Your pardon, sir, but I have yet to actually see a link posted anywhere. Please provide a link in the article itself, describing how it states that the rifles in these games are DH-17s.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 23:01, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
        • Look, oh, I don't know, about five lines above, where I linked to Wookieepedia's article on the DH-17_blaster_rifle

Warning

Please do not engage in bad-faith reversion, as you have done here, in the future. You violated the spirit of the three-revert rule, if not the technical rule itself, by reverting the edit three times in two days. As well, the other editor involved mentioned a source; knee-jerk reversion instead of making a query or checking the source mentioned yourself is an assumption of bad faith. Your vigilance concerning the recent changes is appreciated, but please try not to be so heavy-handed about it in the future. Graestan(Talk) 23:04, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

  • With all due respect, I did not simply revert the article and leave it at that, then revert again. After the second instance, I asked the editor(s) to further substantiate their source on the talk page for the article in question. In addition, a link was provided for DH-17 blaster rifle, and so I am now quite prepared to drop this and apologize to the editor in question. Maveritchell, you have my apologies for assuming that this was a knee-jerk edit, and for the edit-war it provoked.--Goodwood 20px (Alliance Intelligence) 23:10, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
    • Nevertheless, the spirit of the edit was negative, while Maveritchell was indeed in the right; I checked it myself. Telling him to provide a link after he mentioned the website is semantics, and you're not lawyering your way out of this warning. Please conduct yourself with prudence or leave the patrolling and reversion to the administration. Thank you. Graestan(Talk) 23:15, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
      • No worries for now, but I have had issues with heavy-handed editing in the past (as an infrequent editor myself). I mod the game Battlefront II and as such am very familiar with the weaponmodels and what they should look like and what they don't. I can see where someone less familiar might make the error. --Maveritchell (talk) 23:19, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
