welcome!

Hello and welcome to Wookieepedia. I hope you like the place and choose to join our work. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wookieepedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Community Portal talk page or ask me on my Talk page. May the Force be with you! And let me just say it's especially cool to have the Queen of Snark join us. :-) jSarek 04:53, 10 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Your work is great. There's no doubt about that. However, Sparq and I feel there needs to be more submissions before a decision can be made. In light of this, I am going to request that a friend of mine with Photoshop and a knack for SW can try to come up with something. And it may only be another version of your idea. However that Death Star seems to be the mainstay. So would it be possible for you to post the original image of the Death Star II without the text, so that my friend has a fresh template to work on? -- Riffsyphon1024 06:19, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)

  • Ahh, was too good to be true. ;) Fresh copy. Dark Spork 06:26, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Mind posting up the link to the Ep. I font as well? I'd like that for some non-Wookieepedia work. --SparqMan 07:31, 15 Dec 2005 (UTC)
  • Congrats on having your design selected. As a GD person, I have to mention that the test is not rendering very cleanly. Is this a function of the typeface or shrinking the image? Also, do you have a high res version for use in promotional material? --SparqMan 19:30, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Actually its the wrong version. Her second version had larger text, and she'll make it a PNG to fit into non white backgrounds. -- Riffsyphon1024 19:40, 8 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Seen this? CooperTFN 09:17, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • Us being featured, or the Wikicities logo contest? ;) Dark Spork 23:35, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
      • Your logo on the main page. =) CooperTFN 03:42, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Hey Spork, do you agree to release the logo under the GFDL? If so, please add Template:GFDL-self to File:Wiki.png. --Imp 17:17, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)
    • I can't add it myself - locked page. But I'm fine with releasing it. Dark Spork 19:54, 12 Jan 2006 (UTC)

Mornin', Spork, just wondering if you'd be willing to create a logo for the improvement drive, seeing as you designed our new (and, might I say, totally hot) logo. Nothing fancy, just the Wookieepedia version of this. In other words, a Death Star II logo with a giant vibroshovel. I have tried to do this myself several times, but all my tries somehow turn into 8-bit Death Stars. So help would be appreciated. --Imp 15:41, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)

  • Sure... Just give me a bit to find a sufficiently high tech-looking shovel. Dark Spork 23:32, 11 Jan 2006 (UTC)
  • Okay, not so much luck there. But I do have an alternate idea... Things are a tad crazy right now with the RL situation, but give me a few. Dark Spork 03:54, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Hey, while we're making requests...

I didn't wanna miss out on the lunch-hour request line, so... We'd talked in one of the meetings about putting better graphic above the search bar than the current "Wikicities" pic. I'm sure you have loads of free time and all (heh) ...could you help us out? :D WhiteBoy 08:17, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Not much free time now, but give me a week... Fracking Superbowl. Dark Spork 03:54, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
    • No problem.  :) WhiteBoy 15:38, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Icons

Heh...like the icons. And you're a Buffy fan, too! You just might be alright.  ;) WhiteBoy 08:35, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks! :D Dark Spork 03:54, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Wow! You did that?!! I liked them a lot, too. "You are unwise to lower your pants." Hahahahaahah! :D --DarthCow--Talk| Email

Hey, uhh, are those pants icons uploaded already? --DarthCow--Talk| Email

  • Thanks. :D The only ones here are the ones Whiteboy uploaded, I think. -- Dark Spork 00:25, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Meet the artist

Since you and I had discussed it a bit, I wanted to make sure you saw that I put it on the agenda for the next meeting. I'd like you to post your thoughts on it, if you don't mind. And hope you can make the meeting.  :) WhiteBoy 15:37, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

Wookieeversary

Hiya Spork, thanks very much for your coverage on Club Jade and the StarWars.com message boards. Cheers! --Azizlight 03:28, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

  • NP. Woulda done it last night, but me and dates, not so good. -- Dark Spork 03:30, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

Copyright Quesion

Hello, I had a small question regarding copywright on sw.com. For the Lucrehulk-class battleship article, the number of weapons is unknown, but in the Galactic Gallery there's a picture called "Gun Guide" which shows weapon layouts. As this is an HS-only image, would it be legal to use it as a source as long as we didn't use the image itself? I'm sorry to bother you, only I wasn't sure and didn't want to make a fuss in FF. If you're not sure then that's ok, too. Sorry again. YIIMM 21:01, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm pretty sure using it as a source is kosher. We don't report brief paraphrasing and such, just the photo theft and cut/paste jobs. In this instance, since it's just a number, shouldn't be a problem. However, I do wonder where concept art falls on the canon scale... -- Dark Spork 03:59, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks a lot :) (Is your avatar on LiveJournal from Threadless?)YIIMM 07:14, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
      • No problem. :) Yes, I am a dirty thief. (Actually, anything I use on LJ but didn't make myself is credited on my userpic page. [1]) -- Dark Spork 07:31, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Helen Keier

Am I correct in my understanding that you're in touch with Helen Keier through Club Jade? I exchanged a handful of e-mails with her back in her TFN days, and I've been thinking that it'd be nice to do an interview with her in light of her new Essential Guide job. Can you possibly lend a hand with this? CooperTFN 04:03, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

  • I'll get back to you via email. -- Dark Spork 06:50, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

Official Friend

Hiya Spork :-) If you give us the "official nod", we'll make Club Jade an official friend... Cheers!! --Azizlight 11:11, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

  • Cool! Go right ahead. :) -- Dark Spork 17:43, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
    • Thanks :-) --Azizlight 23:29, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

Fanfic site to redirect newbies to?

I notice you were planning on editing the fan fiction article: could you pop over to Forum:What Wookieepedia is not and suggest some sites we could include in the disclaimer as better sites for fanfic than our articles or user pages? Ideally, these would be newbie-friendly sites with lots of opportunity for constructive feedback and helpful beta-readers. Thanks, —Silly Dan (talk) 00:44, 30 March 2006 (UTC)

Search icon

Awesome Wookieesearch icon you came up with Spork. You never disappoint. -- Riffsyphon1024 21:21, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Real name

Can you please post your real name? - Sikon [Talk] 06:06, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

  • I think she's made a point of avoiding putting it online. She's let a few details slip here and there, which is how I was able to gather that at least part of Dunc T'racen's last name is based on her first, but if she doesn't want her full real name out there we should respect that. jSarek 06:16, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
  • All right, then I'll leave the article where it is. - Sikon [Talk] 06:21, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Oh wow, I never knew about the whole Dunc T'racen thing... that's awesome! --Azizlight 06:40, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I changed it. -- Dark Spork 15:05, 11 May 2006 (UTC)

Congrats

Your site ClubJade.net made it to Star Wars Insider 89's list of cool things on the Internet for its load of SW videos. -- Riffsyphon1024 16:57, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks! I scanned it here. [2] - Dark Spork 21:59, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi Spork, I was wondering, do you have a high-res version of the logo you made for us? Say, one suitable to place on a T-shirt? QuentinGeorge 10:50, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
    • I think so. But right now I can't do any high-res work to check. I may have to do it from scratch. I cut out the Death Star at a pretty high res but I dunno how far I could take it for print. Nothing too gigantic, though. -- Dark Spork 01:58, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
    • Speaking of T-shirts, this might interest you. jSarek 09:59, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Hi Dark Spork, if you have time tonight, it would be awesome if you could make the current logo we have, just at the largest size possible with that original Death Star image. If I remember right, that's about 500px. If you can't do that, can you at least let me know the font you used on Wiki.png? Thank you very much! We're trying to get everything set for C4, and need the logo for some print stuff (ie. pamphlets, banner, shirt). Thanks again! —Xwing328(Talk) 04:35, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Flickr photos

I saw that you took several pics of us at C4. Nice seeing you there. Mind if we spread those pics because noone else took pics of us except Bob Vitas. For those who haven't seen them, her album is here. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:27, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

  • Sure, go ahead. --Dark Spork 18:06, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
