Might as well reply to the other parts of your post regarding your references to George Lucas' claims.

His comment about the French Revolution and democracy, in particular: Lucas does realize that the time period between the French Revolution and Napoleon coming to power was actually a horrific time, right? It was about as democratic as the gulags in Stalin's Soviet Union. It was the age of the guillotine, the age of people frequently raping women, the age where any pregnant women and babies were in constant danger of being impaled with the bayonet, the latter being thrown directly on top of it from a balcony, the age that had carnage inflicted among their own ranks and to the people they "liberated." Even if it were democracy, that would act as yet another reason why democracy is the worst thing, period, without exception. Weedle McHairybug (talk) 12:22, August 5, 2013 (UTC)

I'm sure he does realize that France after the revolution was a nightmare. Similarly, Germany was in chaos before Hitler came to power, and Rome had been in civil war for decades. Lucas is looking at the broad ideas of how a democracy becomes a dictatorship throughout history. He is picking up the consistent themes, and from France and many more, we see how people may welcome with thunderous applause a return to normality after crisis, even at the expense of freedom. This is, I believe, part of Lucas' thinking more broadly in Star Wars, as he was creating modern myth deriving from human nature and constants. Vietnam and Nixon served as inspiration for him to look into greater ideas. 60.225.195.213 07:12, August 6, 2013 (UTC)
