- "What was this place?"
"An ancient temple built by my ancestors. The Nightsisters of Dathomir." - ―Shin Hati and Morgan Elsbeth
A stronghold, constructed by the Nightsisters of Dathomir thousands of years before the Battle of Endor, was located on the world Arcana. By the time after the Galactic Civil War, the stronghold had been reduced to ruins.[1]
In 9 ABY,[2] Ahsoka Tano journeyed to the stronghold and completed a puzzle to acquire a compass that led to the galaxy where Grand Admiral Thrawn was believed to have been exiled. After acquiring the star map, Tano was attacked by multiple HK-87 assassin droids, whose self-destruct sequences burnt down what remained of the stronghold.[1]
Behind the scenes
The stronghold was first revealed in the teaser trailer for the limited television series Ahsoka on April 7, 2023. It later debuted in "Part One: Master and Apprentice" of Ahsoka which premiered on Disney+ on August 22, 2023. At San Diego Comic-Con 2023, concept art of the stronghold by artist Matt Allsopp depicted illustrations of Zeffonians carved into the columns at the stronghold. However, there are no illustrations of Zeffonians at the stronghold in the episode itself.

"A Certain Point of View" — Star Wars Insider 228 dates the events of "Part Seven: Dreams and Madness" to nine years after Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, which corresponds to 9 ABY per Star Wars: Timelines. Preceding episodes, also take place in that year, since they take place after Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett, which is dated to 9 ABY according to Timelines. As "Part Eight: The Jedi, the Witch, and the Warlord" takes place shortly after Part Seven, the events of Ahsoka as a whole must all take place within the same year.
