Between 3 ABY and 4 ABY.[1] the Auction for Han Solo was hosted by the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn on[2] the planet[6] Jekara[2] for the carbonite encased smuggler Han Solo after it stole Solo from the bounty hunter Boba Fett on the moon Nar Shaddaa. Crimson Dawn's leader, Lady Qi'ra, intended to use the auction to allow the great galactic powers witness the return of the Dawn,[4] which many believed had disappeared, though in reality they had been planning something big to announce their return.[7]
Among the factions invited to the auction was Black Sun, who were represented by Gyuti, the Galactic Empire, represented by Administrator Sly Moore, the Hutt Clan, represented by Jabba Desilijic Tiure, and the Unbroken Clan led by General Vukorah.[2] The Rebel Alliance became aware of the auction thanks to Amilyn Holdo, and Leia Organa, Lando Calrissian, and Chewbacca traveled to Jekara to rescue Solo.[6]
