2024's Star Wars Character of the Year — 2024's *Star Wars* Character of the Year the Stranger

Wookieepedia is proud to present the Star Wars Character of the Year 2025 contest! For the twentieth year in a row, Wookieepedians may vote to select their favourite Star Wars character to be crowned the next Character of the Year! To get things started, nominees who had 10 or more votes in last year's contest are already listed. The contestants with the most votes—whoever they may be—will move on to a final round in the last week of the year. Check out this page, our Bluesky (@wookofficial.bsky.social), Instagram (@wookieepedia), or Twitter (@WookOfficial) for updates and the crowning of the winner on January 1st, 2026!

Feel free to cast your vote for as many of your favorite Star Wars characters as you like or add new nominees! If you are unsure about the rules below, don't hesistate to ask for help on the talk page. And check out our new snazzy leaderboard system below!

Voting rules

Only users who have a registered Fandom account may vote. See our newcomers' portal and register an account today!
You may only cast one vote per character but may vote for as many characters as you like.
REMEMBER SIGNATURES!
- Please indicate your vote with your signature (to generate a signature, use ~~~~ or the signature icon ). Our Signature policy will help you make a signature (unsigned votes and votes with signatures that violate that policy will be removed).
Comments on votes are optional. Please be nice and avoid discussing spoilers!

Nomination rules
If you want to add new nominees:

Ensure your character is eligible:
- Characters must have an official name, nickname, designation, or call sign. This means no "unidentified" characters or characters with conjectural names.
- Characters may only have one entry each, named per their article. Alternate names may be listed in their entry.
  - To keep things practical, characters who have both canon and Legends versions will be nominated according to their canon versions only; Legends nominations will be modified or removed.
    - If a character has a conjecturally titled canon article but is named in Legends, the Legends version may be nominated instead (e.g. Legends' One-Arm instead of canon's unidentified wampa). Similarly, candidates who are not pictured in canon but are in Legends may feature an image of the character from Legends.
Remember to update both the gallery and the vote section when nominating new candidates. Both parts are alphabetical by first name.
Each user may add no more than three new nominees to the list, so choose wisely! Ineligible nominees will be removed (We've started off with 31 characters already!).
