I'll try and list here all the occurrences of sheer latin or latin-inspired words I could fin in licensed Star Wars world.
My claim would be there is a canonical 'latin language', though we don't know its name or exact purpose. I theorize 'latin' would be, in fact, an ancient form of High Galactic. Here are the results of my (ongoing) searches.
Sheer latin
- Altus sopor (the ability to increase a user's focus on the Force) – In latin, altus is 'high', or 'deep', and sopor is "sleep." This "deep sleep" might well be the meditation state needed to focus.
- Anima (a part of the Force according to Darth Plagueis) - In latin, means "spirit," as in "breath," "air," "life force."
- Animus (a Star Destroyer utilized by the Fel Empire) - In latin, animus also means "spirit," but as in "mind" or "intellect."
- Consitor Sato (the ability to improve a plant's rate of growth – In latin, consitor means "planter" or "sower," and sato is the first-person singular form of satare, which means "to plant."
- Curato salva (the ability of self-healing) - ;
- Imperator (name of several ships and ship classes) – In latin, means "Emperor."
- In umbris potestas est (inscription on a Sith holocron) – Latin phrase meaning "In the shadows, there is power."
- Malacia (power inducing a powerful dizziness and nausea in enemies by turning their equilibrium against them ) - In latin, malacia means "dead calm" (derived from a greek word meaning "softness"). The connection between the Force power and the latin word isn't crystal clear, here.
- Pius Dea - In latin, would mean "faithful to the goddess," though 'Dea Pius' would be more conventional.
- Praetor (name of a Star Battlecruiser class) – In latin, means "leader," or "chief."
- Procurator (name of a Star Batllecruiser class) – In latin, an ancient roman tax collector.
- Quaestor (a Republic Star Battlecruiser) – In latin, an ancient roman official reepsonsible for public revenue.
- Tector (imperial Star Destroyer class) – In latin, means "one who covers" or "one who protects."
- Tutaminis (an umbrella title used by the Jedi Order to classify Force abilities related to energy absorption) - In latin, tutamen (genitive tutaminis) means "defense," or "protection."
- Tyranus (Sith name of the Count Dooku) – In latin, means "tyrant" (derived form a greek word).
Dog latin and other latin-inspired words
- Fi ("male child" in High Galactic) - Could be derived from latin word filius.
- Mortichro (power that suspends biological functions, including breathing and heart rate) – could be linked with latin word mors, mortis, which means 'death'.
- Pax Empirica – Probably intended to mean 'peace of the empire'. In proper latin, empirica wouldn't be 'imperial', but 'empirical'.
- Pera ("male parent" in High Galactic) - Could be derived from latin pater (cf. french père).
- Pliada di am Imperium – Sounds more 'italian' than latin. Proper classical latin would be plata imperii, but late vulgar latin would be something closer, like placea de imperie.
