Clone medical officers, referred to simply as medical officers, were clone trooper officers that were specifically trained in the field of medicine. Their role included treating injured combatants inside of starships and medcenters, as part of the Republic Navy during the Clone Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Description

Clone medical officers, commonly known simply as medical officers, were clone troopers born on the Wild Space planet Kamino that were trained as officers and medical specialists,^[1] serving as part of the Republic Navy, the Galactic Republic's naval branch.^[7] Serving aboard Republic starships, medcenters, and Haven-class medical stations, clone medical officers treated the injured alongside medical droids and other medical personnel.^[1] Clone medical officers could also be deployed to the ground to help transport the wounded.^[4]

Denoted by their white naval uniforms with red accents,^[1] clone medical officers fell into the main hierarchy of the Republic's navy, but did not have command themselves. They reported to bridge officers^[7] and could hold different ranks, such as the rank of chief medic which was denoted by an insignia plaque with a row of two red tiles followed by a single blue tile.^[8] Additionally, a clone medical officer's medical specialty was denoted by a badge embroidered on their uniform's left shoulder. Medical officers were typically equipped with datapads and medical supplies to fulfill their duties.^[1]
