- "We were just starting our work on another Star Wars spin-off and yeah. We were actually just making our mark on Tatooine -- which would have been interesting and some other new galaxies. So hopefully, if that comes back, we'll get the chance to be able to do that further."
- ―Neil Lamont on the film's setting
An untitled Star Wars film prominently featuring Tatooine was reportedly in development as part of the stand-alone spin-offs from the Star Wars saga, much like 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and 2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story. By August 15, 2018, art director and designer Neil Lamont said that an Anthology film featuring the planet Tatooine was in development by Disney.[2] One day later, however, MovieWeb reported that the film has been cancelled.[1]
