The Univer was a unit of currency used in the Unknown Regions.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] the Chiss sky-walker navigator Che'ri and Caregiver Mitth'ali'astov, core name "Thalias," were captured by the Nikardun General Yiv. The general sent a message to the Chiss ruling body of the Syndicure, demanding a ransom equivalent to two hundred thousand Univers for their release. Ultimately, the Chiss were able to rescue the two women without paying the ransom.[1]
In 18 BBY,[3] Xodlak family Senior Aide Xodlak'ji'iprip ("Lakjiip") commented to Councilor Xodlak'uvi'vil ("Lakuviv") that one could give an artist one hundred Univers to spend on supplies and they could produce a painting that someone would buy for thousands.[4]

Univers were first mentioned in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
