- "We surrender! Our village is yours. Take whatever you want."
- ―The royal trooper surrenders to the Trade Federation
A royal trooper served in the Royal Naboo Security Forces and lived in a Human Naboo village on the planet Naboo. During the Invasion of Naboo by the Trade Federation in 32 BBY, the village was attacked by the Trade Federation Droid Army under the command of the B1-series battle droid OOM-9.[1]
While advancing on a path towards the southern gate of the village, the battle droids killed anyone they encountered.[2] The eight royal troopers in the village were unable to stop the invaders, and the village surrendered[1] after OOM-9's heavy droidekas rolled through the gate.[2] The royal trooper announced the surrender and gave the Trade Federation permission to exploit the village however they wished. OOM-9 used the village as a base from which he invaded the nearby city Spinnaker, with the surviving PKN-49 worker droids and royal troopers aiding his efforts.[1]
Behind the scenes
The royal troopers' voice was heard in "Spinnaker's Spoils," the third level of the Trade Federation campaign in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. The trooper was voiced by Rob Paulsen, who also portrayed other royal troopers in the game.[1]
