- "Now!"
- ―The command that threw the rebel into action
A rebel trooper was part of the Alliance Army during the Galactic Civil War between the Alliance to Restore the Republic and Galactic Empire.[1] At some point before the Battle of Endor of 4 ABY,[2] the trooper was part of a platoon assigned to a remote rocky, forested planet for an ambush against an Imperial supply convoy that had been using the planet as a staging ground. With the war on the line, the ambush was a last-ditch effort that the trooper, like the rest of their platoon, waited several weeks for. After those weeks of hiding across the planet's terrain, when the Empire finally returned to the planet one night, the rebel trooper and their comrades rushed into battle—springing into action when someone yelled "Now"—with the knowledge that their actions would change the course of the Galactic Civil War. Running from their hiding place and firing a blaster rifle on instinct, the trooper fought as part of a squad and took out at least one stormtrooper. The ambush caught the convoy entirely off guard and seemed as though it would end in victory for the Alliance until the Sith Lord Darth Vader revealed himself, which was a terrifying development for the rebels that robbed certain victory from their hands.[1]
Behind the scenes
The rebel trooper appeared in the introduction to the "Welcome to Legion" article on Atomic Mass Games' website, which featured a first-person perspective piece of prose from the perspective of the trooper. The article was published on August 12, 2025, and released to introduce new players to the Star Wars: Legion table-top game.[1]
