A rancor lived in the Sodden Grotto on the planet Koboh in the Outer Rim Territories in 9 BBY. This rancor took the lives of some prospectors, which eventually led to their death when Cal Kestis was attacked by the beast after the Jedi Knight was sent to investigate the prospectors' disappearance. The rancor was eventually killed in the confrontation.[3]
