An individual worked as a private investigator during the High Republic Era. After Nihil Minister of Information Ghirra Starros offered the Nihil's surrender to the Galactic Republic[1] in 228 BBY,[2] she hired the investigator to locate her daughter Avon Sunvale, who had defected from the Nihil[1] to work with the Republic.[3] Ghirra provided the investigator with a lengthy heartfelt message to deliver to Avon that consisted of an apology, Ghirra's acknowledgement of being wrong, and a reconciliation attempt. During their investigation, the investigator learned that Avon was deceased.[1]

Around that year,[4] weeks after the Nihil's surrender, the private investigator sent a message to Ghirra's comlink informing her that they had been unable to deliver the message as Avon was dead. When Ghirra received the message, she stared at the words, noting they were so cold and precise, leaving her feeling lost. Unbeknownst to the investigator and Ghirra,[1] Avon had not died and had instead fled to the Wild Space planet Ingae.[5]
