- "That's an interesting weapon you have here. Kinda rare isn't it?"
"Yeah, it is kinda rare, sort of like that sphere over your shoulder... interested in a trade?" - ―The thief with Kyle Katarn
A female thief operated on the moon Sulon.
History
That individual operated as a thief[1] and bounty hunter.[2] During her exploits her left eye was destroyed, and replaced it with a cybernetic one; she owned a remote droid that was equipped with a blade.[1]
By 5 ABY she operated on Sulon; at one point, she spotted the Kyle Katarn walking about the city Barons Hed, and noticed his lightsaber hanging from his belt.[1]
Katarn was a Force-sensitive and fledgling Jedi, and had already sensed that someone tailed him as he walked along the Rimmer's Alley; being a renegade former Imperial, he tried not to draw attention from Imperials or bounty hunters but had neglected covering the lightsaber, a rare sight around the Imperial Period.[1]
The woman confronted Katarn in a residential area near the alley, greeted him politley, and immediately pointed out the interesting weapon he wore. As a response, Katarn proposed to trade it with her remote, and right then prompted a shootout between the two; it was a tenth of a standard second after his shot struck her neck, when hers missed him. She fell gurgling.[1]
After her death, her remote activated. Katarn then used his lightsaber to destroy her remote.[1]
Personality and traits
- "You looking for something, citizen? Maybe I can help."
- ―The thief trying to approach Kyle Katarn
By nature, the woman was attractive by human standards, but her beauty was destroyed when she replaced her lost left eye with a cybernetic device. Her deep voice had a husky timbre.[1]
The woman did not have difficulty to focus on a lightsaber worn by one stranger among the crowd of Rimmer's Alley. In hopes of selling it for credits, she followed him to claim the rare artifact.[1]
Equipment
- "A girl has to be careful walking these streets. Barons Hed is a dangerous place."
- ―The thief about her remote
The woman wore a cybernetic eye to replace her lost one; it consisted of a turret with three lenses, whirring as it rotated. She was armed with a pair of blasters. She was supported by a personal remote that hovered above her shoulder; once activated, it produced a spike of eight centimeters. It was programmed to attack its owner's aggressor, even after he would kill her, as relatiation.[1]
Behind the scenes
The woman appeared first in Dark Forces: Rebel Agent and is not given a name; in the narration Kyle Katarn perceives her as a "would-be thief".
In the novella, Katarn shoots first once he realises her purpose to mug him, afraid that she might have others with her; in the audio dramatization her lines are more, and begins to be clearly menacing, moving for her blaster(s); Kyle warns her, before killing her with Rahn's lightsaber.
She is voiced by Wendy Easton, credited as "Female Bounty Hunter".
