"Looking for a translator?"
"I'm trying to sell a fathier to Lord Jabba, at a very reasonable price of five hundred credits might I add, but his people won't talk to me in Basic. I can't understand them."
―Kay Vess to the faither smuggler[1]

A Zabrak with tan skin, brown eyes and brown facial markings was a smuggler.[1] Prior to 3 ABY,[2] he had a modest pod outside the Casino District in Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica.[1] In 3 ABY,[2] he traveled to the desert planet Tatooine hoping to sell a fathier to Jabba Desilijic Tiure for 500 credits. However he did not speak Huttese and Jabba's people would not speak to him in Galactic Basic. He then began asking for someone to translate for me at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina. While there he wore a dark shirt under a gray vest.[1]

This section of the article assumes 100% game completion of Star Wars Outlaws. Any alternate stories may be noted in the "Behind the scenes" section. The events in this section may or may not have been confirmed as canon.

Later that year,[2] the smuggler talked to a scoundrel named Kay Vess, who could speak Huttese. They offered Vess ten percent if she would negotiate the sale. After coming to an agreement on the percentage Vess left and later traveled to Jabba's Palace in the Northern Dune Sea. After negotionating the deal, Kay returned to the Zabrak who was excited to leave Tatooine.[1]

Behind the scenes

The Zabrak, identified as a smuggler in the subtitles, appeared in the 2024 video game, Star Wars Outlaws developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. In the game, he is part of the "Translation Services" intel quest. While initially talking to the smuggler the player can ask for twenty percent instead of the offered ten, he will counter with fifteen. Later during the quest the player can try to sell the fathier for 800 credits, but this will trigger a backlash and result in a sell of 400.[1]
