A male child lived on the methane planet Farstine during the Galactic Civil War. The child was reserved and well-mannered, intelligent but eager to participate in adventures. Orphaned when his parents were killed by Imperial soldiers during their occupation of the planet, the child became homeless and was without money. Down to his last fifteen minutes of oxygen, the child faced his own death with dignity, but was rescued by a bounty hunter who took pity on him as he reminded the hunter of their own younger brother who had died at an early age.[1]

Behind the scenes

"Ah… I was thinking of playing this one a little differently. Like, a properly-brought-up Upper Class British kid."
―The child's fictitious player brainstorms the characters personality[1]

The child was first mentioned in the 1987 Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game as an example of how players could connect their characters' backstories in the game. The book provides a hypothetical discussion between fictitious roleplayers, one of which chooses to use the "Kid" character template. The dialogue describes the child as having an "Upper Class British" style.[1]
