A clan of Wookiees existed on Kashyyyk some time before the rise of the Galactic Empire. One day, a member of that clan was involved in a duel with another Wookiee, the father of Attichitcuk. He died in the fight, which provoked a lasting enmity between his clan and the family of his killer.
