"And they were like this when you found them, Nool?"
"Yeah. Just like this. We didn’t move them, except to check they were dead."
―Abediah Viess and Nool, discussing the patrol the Twi'lek was a part of[3]

A Rutian Twi'lek was a member of the Nihil marauders. In 229 BBY, they were a part of the Nihil crew on the planet Daedus, and were in a patrol that hunted for Jedi Master Porter Engle, who was on Daedus to find the wreckage of a shuttle. The patrol caught up to Engle at the shuttle's wreckage, but after trying to deescalate the situation, the Jedi Master was forced to kill the whole group, including the Twi'lek. Later, the Minister of Protection Abediah Viess visited the site of the incident, mentally noting that the Twi'lek died to a lightsaber wound to her chest.

A Rutian Twi'lek[2] served as a member of the Nihil pirates during their conflict with the Galactic Republic.[3] In 229 BBY,[1] they were stationed on the planet Daedus as a part of the local Nihil crew. When an individual among the Nihil's patrolling guards discovered remains of the Ikkrukkian Jedi Master Porter Engle's campsite, a patrol led by the Nihil Roola that included the Twi'lek set out to pursue Engle, unaware of his status as a Jedi. During the pursuit Engle managed to double back and take a look at the group tracking him, including the Twi'lek. They caught up to Engle at the wreckage of a shuttle he was searching for, which the Jedi sensed through the Force while inside the wreckage. A female human from the patrol called out to Engle to announce to him that he was surrounded by the group, but the Jedi gave them the option to leave him alone. When the Nihil opened fire on Engle, he reacted by using the Force to open the shuttle's wreckage like petals.[3]

When the human woman opened fire on him again upon discovering that he was a Jedi, Engle regretfully killed the whole group, giving them quick deaths to avoid unnecessary suffering. During the fight, the Twi'lek attempted to pull the pin of a gas grenade, but the Ikkrukkian flung his lightsaber at them, piercing their heart with the weapon's blade and causing them to fall backward. Afterward, the group's Umbaran tracker caught Engle by surprise and pointed a blaster into the Jedi's lower back, thanking him for eliminating the group as it would allow the Umbaran to take Roola's place in the hierarchy easily. Engle apologized to the Nihil and recalled his lightsaber from by the Twi'lek's corpse, letting it bury itself in the Umbaran's body.[3]

The slaughtered team was eventually found by other Nihil, and Nool—an Abyssin Nihil in charge of the crew on Daedus—sent for Minister of Protection[3] Abediah Viess.[4] By the time Viess and Nool visited the site of the incident together, the corpses of the patrol team had already begun to smell badly. During her inspection of the location, Viess scanned the dead bodies of the patrol, including the Twi'lek. Viess mentally noted the hole in her chest, concluding that the lightsaber had killed her instantly.[3]
