According to legend, a T-series tactical droid served the Confederacy of Independent Systems aboard General Grievous' flagship in 22 BBY. Growing weary of the general's disregard for droids, the tactical droid deliberately altered the orders before the Battle of Alamass. The new strategy ultimately resulted in a loss for the army, but it significantly cut down on casualties. Grievous stormed the bridge in response and destroyed the tactical droid with his lightsabers. Word spread of the droid's actions, eventually honored by the Galactic Republic.[2]
Behind the scenes
The droid appears in the 2019 short story "The Droid with a Heart," in the anthology Myths & Fables.[2]

Notes and references
- ↑ As established by Star Wars: Timelines, the Clone Wars began in 22 BBY. During the events of
Star Wars: The Clone Wars — "Destroy Malevolence", which takes place during the Clone Wars and can be dated to 22 BBY by Star Wars: Timelines, Grievous loses the Malevolence, which Dooku describes as the Confederacy of Independent Systems's "prized warship." As "The Droid with a Heart" states that the Battle of Alamass was Grievous's first major loss during the Clone Wars, it must occur after the conflict began but before he lost the Malevolence, placing the battle in 22 BBY.
