A Sith relief stood outside the Sith Citadel on the planet Exegol.[1]
Behind the scenes
The original concept art made for the relief during production of The Rise of Skywalker
The Sith relief first appeared in the 2019 film Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the third installment of the Star Wars sequel trilogy.[1]
While not seen in closeups, it was confirmed to be in the film, standing outside the "monolith", by concept artist Stephen Zavala, who also posted the concept art that Industrial Light & Magic used as reference to sculpt it. The relief contains many characters resembling Sith from the Star Wars Legends continuity, including Darth Revan, Darth Malak, Tulak Hord, and Darth Nihilus, though according to Zavala these easter eggs "shouldn't be read too much into."[3]

Just don’t read too much into it, they’re merely just Easter eggs in a long process of developing the look of Exegol’s monolith. While it’s fun to speculate there’s really nothing more to this piece. Fun fact: it was actually sculpted very nicely by the talented folk at ILM for the film but we never really got a closeup tho (it’s outside the monolith). Anyways, can you name everyone who’s recognizable in there? You get a gold star if you do.
