An RA-7 protocol droid served the Galactic Empire[2] around 0 ABY, following the Battle of Yavin.[1] The RA-7 protocol droid was stationed aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer of Commander Kai, and was dispatched to translate for the Wookiee Chewbacca after he and the young girl Zarro were caught while attempting to sabotage the efforts of the local crime lord Jaum. However, the prisoners managed to overpower their stormtrooper captors as their shuttle landed on the Star Destroyer. The protocol droid attempted to negotiate the two's surrender by speaking in Shyriiwook, but Chewbacca tore the droid apart.[2]
