A long-necked non-Human served as a diplomat on the planet Coruscant during the regime of the New Republic. The individual owned a pet otta.[1]

Behind the scenes

The design of that unidentified diplomat was recycled for Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace from conceptual drawings by Terryl Whitlatch. At least two artworks of a long-necked, green-robed senator were drawn as early as 1995, but the character did not make it in the final movie, which was released in four years later. Those two drawings appeared in Star Wars: Episode I Insider's Guide, an interactive CD-ROM released the same year as the movie.[2]
