The title of this article is conjectural.

Although this article is based on canonical information, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A battlesphere was deployed by General Grievous in Mustafar's atmosphere in order to use its laser to recharge the long depleted power source of a an ancient superweapon buried on the world.[3]

After learning of Grievious's plan to activate the superweapon, the Jedi deployed Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Kit Fisto and Commander Cody to the battlesphere to disrupt the sphere's three firing platforms before it could charge the weapon. The two teams were able to destroy the first two firing platforms, however when Skywalker and Tano reached the third they were confronted by EG-07. Though eventually defeated, EG-07 was able to delay the two Jedi long enough to allow the platform to fire and charge the weapon. Afterward Jedi Masters Mace Windu and Yoda were deployed to the surface and were able to destroy the weapon's core.[3]

Behind the scenes

The battlesphere was first shown in the Nintendo DS edition of Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes video game, which was released in 2009.[3]
