A Chiss syndic represented the Chiss Ascendancy's Kiwu family in the Chiss Syndicure, the ruling body of the Ascendancy.[1] In 19 BBY,[2] the syndic served on a tribunal that investigated the actions of Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, core name "Thrawn," during the attack on the Paataatus Hiveborn nation. During the tribunal, Senior Captain Kiwu'tro'owmis, core name "Wutroow," who had been part of the attack force, rhetorically questioned how the Paataatus had known beforehand which attack vector the Chiss would arrive from. The Kiwu syndic, suspecting that Wutroow was aware of the answer, invited the senior captain to reveal it to the tribunal.[1]

The syndic appeared in the 2020 novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising, the first installment of Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: The Ascendancy Trilogy.[1]
