"It’s been a long time since I killed a Jedi."
―Kouru, to the Ronin[1]

A Force-sensitive male served as a Jedi of the Jedi clans. At some point, he was killed by the Sith Kouru in a lightsaber duel, being split by her strike. Twenty years after the Sith rebellion, when dueling the former Sith known as the Ronin amidst a skirmish on the planet Genbara, Kouru recalled the instance in which she had slain the Jedi.[1]

In her memory, the Jedi's large, grimacing presence contrasted with her young and slender build at the time. The recollection of his defeat was evoked by the sight of a damaged protocol droid lying on the opposite side of the main town square during Kouru's duel with the Ronin.[1]

Behind the scenes

Ronin: A Visions Novel first described the Jedi as a specific individual.

The Jedi was first mentioned "The Duel," a non-canon short film released as part of the first volume of the Star Wars: Visions series, produced by Kamikaze Douga and released on Disney+[2] on September 22, 2021.[3]

The character was first described to be a specific individual in the short film's spin-off non-canon novel Ronin: A Visions Novel, written by Emma Mieko Candon[1] and published on October 12 of the same year.[4] Kouru's line about killing the Jedi was partially referenced in Aurebesh within the official poster art for "The Duel," which read "IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I ENDED A JE[illegible]".[5]
