- "To live your life, prepare for death."
- ―A saying learned from the Jedi's journal by Depa Billaba
A female Jedi of the Jedi Order lived centuries before[1] 33 BBY.[2] Although she was cut off from any hope of assistance while working in a remote region, the Jedi continued to fight, understanding the role of death in the natural order. She wrote a journal that was eventually read by Jedi Master Depa Billaba, who learned a saying about preparing for one's death from the Jedi's writings, making the concept of the saying a foundation of her own being. Billaba thought of the saying, and the journal of the Jedi she had learned it from, while being held captive by the pirate Zilastra on the planet Valboraan.[1]
