- "My internal filters break down the alcohol before I can feel anything. And I don't have human taste buds anymore, so what's the point in drinking?"
"I would suggest that you come up with a better line for that officer who purchased the beverage for, and I quote, 'the cute one over there'." - ―Beilert Valance and the service droid
A human served as an Imperial officer in the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. Around 3 ABY, the officer was present on the Imperial Star Destroyer Righteous Fist and bought a drink for Lieutenant Beilert Valance, who they considered cute. After the service droid took the drink to Valance, it quoted the officer's words about the lieutenant being cute, and the two looked at each other. Not long after, Valance left to talk to Lieutenant Jyala Haydenn, who he had feelings for.
Biography
The service droid brought a drink to Beilert Valance as instructed by the Imperial officer (second from right).
A human served as an officer of the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era.[1] Around 3 ABY,[2] they were present on the Imperial-class Star Destroyer Righteous Fist, and visited one of its bars. While at the bar, the officer[1] took notice of[3] Lieutenant[4] Beilert Valance—a cyborg bounty hunter who had been reconstructed to serve the Empire[5] and was aboard the Star Destroyer while he waited for the debrief for his next mission—sitting by himself with a number of alcoholic beverages. The officer then purchased a drink, telling the service droid that it was for "the cute one over there," referring to Valance.[1]
As the officer sat at the bar, the service droid took the beverage over to the lieutenant as instructed. However, Valance informed the droid that he could not feel the alcohol and had no taste buds, meaning drinking was pointless. The droid responded by suggesting that Valance find a better response for the officer who had purchased the drink for him before quoting their instructions. The lieutenant then glanced over to the officer, who in turn looked at Valance while drinking an orange-colored beverage. Shortly after, Valance left the bar to speak with[1] Lieutenant Jyala Haydenn,[5] who he had romantic feelings for.[1]
