"Better have my protocol droid standing by."
"Your Brilliancy will recall that he was, ah, reassigned when his translation of your joke about the three Hardex and the bantha failed to amuse the Hardexian ambassador."
―Craw and Steggus[1]

At some point, a Hardex ambassador visited Craw, the self-titled Dictator-Forever of[1] the planet[2] Targonn. Craw told the Hardexian ambassador a joke about three Hardex and a bantha, though the latter was not amussed by a protocol droid's translation of the joke. As a result, Craw had the droid deactivated and turned into a fountain.[1] In 5.5 BBY,[3] the Targonnian captain Steggus reminded Craw of the joke and the ambassador's reaction to it.[1]

Behind the scenes

The ambassador was mentioned in the sixth issue of the comic-book series Star Wars: Droids (1995), which was written by Jan Strnad and released by Dark Horse Comics[1] on October 31, 1995.[4]
