A general served the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars. Late in the galaxy-spanning conflict, the general was in command of Republic forces during the Battle of Slag's Pit[1] around 19 BBY.[2] Wanting to bury a Separatist fortification, the general ordered a charge, but was warned by the soldier Skelly, an explosives expert, that the ground was too soft and the explosives were the wrong kind. The general did not listen and ordered the attack anyways. Skelly attempted to protect his fellow soldiers with his skills, but failed, becoming the only survivor of the charge and losing an arm.[1]
Behind the scenes
The general was mentioned in the 2014 novel A New Dawn, written by John Jackson Miller.[1]

- ↑ In A New Dawn, it is stated that Skelly fell into a coma after being injured during the Battle of Slag's Pit, and that the Clone Wars had ended by the time Skelly regained consciousness. As Star Wars: Galactic Atlas states that the Clone Wars ended in 19 BBY, the battle likely occurred around that year.
