- "Tack into the danger, boys
Onward through the night
Upon the morrow we'll hoist our flag
And set Queen Gann alight" - ―A segment of the song
A Corellian traders' song went back centuries before the Galactic Civil War. Its lyrics recounted a perilous voyage, with references to Queen Gann and nautical terms such as mizzens, marlinspikes, and anchor rodes—words that Soran Keize considered to be nonsense. It was the favored drinking song of Imperial starfighter captain Jothal Gablerone, and was recalled by Keize after Gablerone's death over Troithe[1] in 5 ABY.[2]
Behind the scenes
The song appeared in the 2020 novel Shadow Fall, written by Alexander Freed as the second book of the Star Wars: Alphabet Squadron trilogy.[1]

In Shadow Fall, the Dark Secrets of Alphabet Squadron Revealed on StarWars.com (backup link) establishes that Shadow Fall takes place approximately half a year after the Battle of Endor, while Before the Awakening states Kes Dameron and Shara Bey moved to Yavin 4 around six months after the Battle of Endor. Given that Star Wars: Galactic Atlas dates their move to 5 ABY, the events of Shadow Fall must also take place around that time.
