Kell Tainer
In 7 ABY, the guard and his team were assigned to oversee Bunker Twenty-two Aleph on Revos Spaceport. The bunker housed the Lambda-class shuttles Hawkbat's Perch and Hawkbat's Vigil. A maintenance team—actually members of the New Republic commando unit Wraith Squadron—arrived to service the shuttles in order to secretly infect them with Bunkurd Sewer Disorder. Hours later, a second maintenance team arrived to perform the same work.[1]
Kell Tainer, posing as the fake maintenance team's lead mechanic, attempted to diffuse the situation with the second team's lead mechanic but the latter became aggressive over the potential loss of pay. Tainer suggested that the second mechanic’s team could redo any portions they deemed inadequate without filing a formal complaint, allowing both teams to log hours.[1]
The mechanic considered the offer but ultimately chose to perform the maintenance again and still submit an immediate complaint. A call like that would likely alert the spaceport operators to the unauthorized maintenance job Tainer’s team had just performed, so Tainer provoked the mechanic into a fight and quickly beat him into unconsciousness. He then urged the guard, who witnessed the altercation, to call it in so that Tainer could accuse the mechanic of assault with intent to kill.[1]
The mechanic’s partner intervened and asked Tainer not to report the incident. He offered to service the shuttles and refrain from filing a complaint regarding Tainer’s team’s work, arguing that doing so would spare everyone from additional paperwork. The guard agreed to the solution, allowing Tainer’s team to leave the bunker safely with their cover identities intact.[1]
