Umwak's sidekick

The title of this article is conjectural. Although this article is based on official information from the Star Wars Legends continuity, the actual name of this subject is pure conjecture.

A Dulok served as the sidekick of the Dulok shaman Umwak and participated in a raid on the Ewok settlement of Bright Tree Village in 3 ABY. Accompanying Dulok King Gorneesh and Umwak, they hoped to steal soap to protect themselves from bugs. They managed to find a bar of soap and stole it, though unbeknownst to them, it was instead shadowroot soap, which made its users invisible.

Biography

A Dulok lived on the Forest Moon of Endor as part of a Dulok tribe.^[1] The Dulok was the sidekick to the Dulok shaman Umwak.^[2] In 3 ABY,^[3] the Dulok accompanied Dulok King Gorneesh and Umwak on a clandestine raid on Bright Tree Village, an Ewok settlement on Endor, in search of the Ewoks' soap so they could use it as bug repellent. While Gorneesh waited below, the Dulok carried Umwak up a vine, arguing all the while, to the platforms of the village and sneaked into the hut of Logray, the Ewok medicine man. While searching, the Dulok played with Logray's crystal image spinner, which annoyed Umwak, and the Dulok also checked a scaly green creature's mouth, jumping back when another creature leaped out from inside.^[1]

Umwak used the Dulok to check a vial of steamy liquid, which tidied the Dulok's face and turned the hair thereon a shiny gold. Umwak became annoyed that there was none left, re-scruffying the other Dulok's face. They soon after found a bar of soap, inadvertently stealing shadowroot soap, which made those who used it invisible. The pair climbed back down the vine, bickering again until Gorneesh yanked them down to the ground. He took the soap and began to return home, with the other Duloks begging him to save some soap for them.^[1]

Personality and traits

The Dulok was prone to arguing with Umwak and was easily distracted during their mission to steal the soap. The Dulok was pooped after having carried Umwak up the vine. The sidekick had green fur and light red eyes.^[1]

Behind the scenes

Umwak's sidekick first appeared in "The Haunted Village," the second episode of the first season of the animated series Ewoks,^[1] which aired on September 14, 1985.^[4]
