Umbral was a Force-sensitive Twi'lek male living during the third Galactic War. At some point, Umbral established a cult known as the Master's Top Secret Army to create a dark side army, having been rejected by both the Jedi and the Sith.[1] Around 3624 BBY,[2] the Alliance Commander of the Eternal Alliance discovered Umbral's hideout on the space station Mek-Sha to put an end to his actions and uncover the secrets of the Master's Top Secret Army.[1]

Umbral first appeared in the September 2023 Game Update 7.3.1 of Star Wars: The Old Republic: Legacy of the Sith,[3] the eighth digital expansion to the massively multiplayer online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic.[4]
