Ultra Turrets were a type of custom automated defensive emplacement designed by the rookie Hunter medic, programmer, and tinkerer, Sprocket, for use in the Hunters of the Outer Rim competition hosted on Vespaara. These autoturrets were considered Sprocket's ultimate defense within the Grand Arena, and could target multiple enemies with a rapid succession of blaster fire. They could only operate for a short time after activation, and once their time had expired, they would self-destruct. Sprocket could also deploy a smaller version of this turret, which were less durable and could only target one individual at a time.[1]

This turret was designed for the video game Star Wars: Hunters, which was developed by NaturalMotion's BossAlien[1] and initially published by Zynga on November 16, 2021 as a soft launch[2] before the global release on June 4, 2024.[3] It was designed by concept artist Anna Kay. At one point, the idea of there being multiple turret variants or modes was considered, being the yellow combat turret, a green bacta turret, and a blue shield turret, though only the former was implemented into the game. Concept art for this turret also explicitly refers to it as a droid, though this is never mentioned in any official material.[4]
