- "The laws of Trupellian probability alone point to the impossibility of his infamously long-lived winning streak in the Rafa system."
- ―A minion of Quaffug the Hutt, on Lando Calrissian
Trupellian probability was a discipline that dealt with the probability of certain events.[1] It originated in the Colonies' Trupellia system.[2][3]
While on a diplomatic mission to the third moon of Blimph due to its strategic importance to the Rebel Alliance, Lando Calrissian was captured by bounty hunters working for Quaffug the Hutt, who held a grudge against Calrissian after the Human had won in sabacc years earlier in the Rafa system. Reinforced by the laws of Trupellian probability, Quaffug believed this was due to cheating and sentenced Calrissian to take part in a Duff-Jikab..[1]

(backup link) (screenshot) Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for Trupellian probability in relation to the Trupellia system.
