Triumph-class

The Triumph-class was a model of transport used by the Special Forces Division of the Galactic Republic during the Cold War with the reconstituted Sith Empire.^[1]

Description

The Triumph-class was a model of shuttle used by the Republic SpecForce Division in order to transport commando units directly onto the battlefield, being able to carry at least two individuals. They were hyperspace capable and resembled the Fortitude-class assault shuttle and older Rendaran-class assault shuttle greatly. Similarly, these transports were also armed with a pair of twin laser cannons.^[1]

History

Dozens of Triumph-class transports participated in the siege of the Balmorran Arms Factory during the battle of Balmorra.^[1] Under the leadership of Grand Marshal Cheketta, the Balmorran resistance had constructed a hyperspace beacon inside the factory. Using the beacon, Republic reinforcements, consisting of dozens of Triumph-class transports, managed to slip past the Imperial orbital defenses by jumping in-system almost directly overhead of the battle zone.^[1]

Imperial forces, who had by then penetrated the outer layer of factory defenses,^[2] caught wind of this and managed to detect the incoming ships. On the orders of Darth Lachris, newly appointed governor of Balmorra, attack squadrons were mobilized in order to blow the transports out of the skies. Meanwhile, Imperial forces on the ground began destroying the factories landing pads and guidance systems, in an attempt to prevent the transports from landing. Six Triumph-class transports were downed before Lachris called in additional ground-to-air weaponry. Despite this, a single transport managed to slip past the onslaught. Jedi Knight Sedoya Senn and his Padawan were the only ones to reach the factories hangar but were ultimately killed by an Imperial strike team on the ground.^[1]
