The Tigon mining colony was a mining settlement on the[2] Mid Rim[3] planet of Makeb. When the Hutt Cartel invaded Makeb[2] in 3638 BBY,[1] they began massive mining operations on the planet, which triggered severe groundquakes.[4] The fourth of these groundquakes leveled the entirety of the Tigon mining colony, and bodies were still being removed from the rubble of the colony by the fifth groundquake. During the fifth groundquake, the politician Shalim Avesta discussed the Hutt Cartel's invasion with an individual affiliated with the Galactic Republic. After the groundquake hit, he mentioned the destruction of the Tigon mining colony and subsequent rescue efforts to the Republic individual.[2]
